Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech LX7 Cordless Optical Mouse - Dark Blue ( 931395-0403 )

Customer Review: great so far
Summary: 5 Stars

I like this mouse a lot. It does everything it said it would. Make sure you update the software from the Logitech website. The software on the disk is already old and some features (like forward/back buttons in firefox) would not work with the old software. But after installing the software it worked perfectly with just enough customizable features.

The forward/back buttons are the best things about the mouse. I also prefer the Logitech scroll wheels over Microsoft and this one didn't let me down. This mouse is smaller than many but much bigger than standard notebook mice so it works great for me. I have had no problems with the wireless reception but I haven't really tested it. I like the purported battery life but it's too soon to judge. Oh and did I mention the mouse is really stylish?

Customer Review: Top Notch Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I just ordered my second LX7 mouse. My original just started to give and was presenting problems (this is after 3+ years of heavy use). Most mice are uncomfortable and this fits like a glove. That and the main features are great:
*vertical scrolling
*horizontal scrolling (same scrolling wheel)
*3 button mouse (left, right and scrolling wheel)
*BACK & FORWARD button (small buttons below scroller).
The back/forward buttons are the real deal with this mouse. Whenever I am at work or on another persons computer I forget how much I use this simple button. It lasted a long time considering it was used heavily. Battery life was great (I never turned it off and it still rarely needed new batteries). Top notch mouse for anyone who needs more than a basic, small, cheap mouse.

Customer Review: Best mouse I've ever used
Summary: 5 Stars

I program and test web sites all day long, so I needed a mouse that was wireless, had good battery life, and one that I wouldn't make accidental clicks all the time with. Back/Forward buttons located where the thumb rests on the mouse had always been a nuisances for me. The location of them on this mouse is perfect.. I never hit them on accident. The wheel could be a bit smoother, but is a 100% improvement from the other mouses I've had. The horizontal scrolling doesn't work in all the applications I use but that's not a surprise.

As far as battery life, I'm seriously impressed. There is room for two AA batteries, but I've had only one in the mouse for over a month now and I'm still going strong.

This mouse is more than worth the money. I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: OK but mostly not good
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this model because the Logitech support claimed that it had full feature software support in Win2000. It doesn't!

Pros:
Good RF performance, no trouble receiving the signal from several feet.
Works with both USB and PS2 connections.

Cons:
Driver does not seem to recognize the mouse, and so there is no way to assign functions to the extra 5 buttons; it only acts like a 2 button scroll mouse.
Wheel button is so hard to press that it is useless.
Mouse is very heavy and unbalanced.

The Logitech drivers are pitiful garbage. I was able to get the wheel button to function using the MS Intellipoint driver, but it is too difficult to press the wheel. Bottom line is it doesn't work as advertised so it gets returned.

Customer Review: Awesome Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I am an Apple user who has fallen in LOVE with this device. I had been using a Microsoft optical which finally fell apart, and tried using Apple's version of a mouse. I had purchased this mouse over a year ago and was being used on a laptop which ran Vista which I had not touched. The laptop has died and will probably find its way to a Chinese landfill even though they told me it's going to be recycled, yeah right. I initially used it on an old mac running Panther (OS X 10.3), which just sits on a pedestal just to show off our Flickr pics. The third time I touched it, I had to have it for my iMac running OS X 10.5, and I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and it works great on all platforms, except Linux, which I haven't tried yet, but will soon, just can't decide which flavor to use.
