Customer Review: Best mouse I've used hands down, PC Gamer
Summary: 5 Stars

This is hands down the best mouse I've ever used and I am VERY picky about my mice. As a video gamer, I am obsessed with gaming using only the best mice and I was never 100% satisfied with any mouse regardless of price, until I used the LX7 by logitech. It's the perfect shape for the hand, being that it's simple and smooth but not OVERLY shaped like some other complicated designs where companies go overboard trying to get too fancy. The weight is perfect, it's just heavy enough that it has good quality feel, not too light and not too heavy. It's got perfect response time, there's no lag or disconnect feeling to it. My personal favorite thing about the LX7 is the 2 custom buttons next to the scroll wheel, you can map those using the included software to be any key command, which is VERY useful in gaming, and the best thing is the buttons are easy to quickly press but not SO EASY that you accidentally press them all the time, a common problem for many gaming mice.

Speaking of quality, I've had my LX7 for about 4 years and it's still in great condition, the longest I have ever used a mouse. I will finally buy another LX7 this month only because the left click button has just slightly slowed down after all these years of use. I probably could just clean it, there's probably just dirt under the button, but I'll just buy a new one. Lastly, the battery usage is great, I use my LX7 several hours a day, every day and I replace the AA batteries about once every 2-3 months. You don't have to turn the mouse on and off, it automatically does that when you turn your computer on/off.

Like I said, I just think the LX7 is perfect in every way. As a gamer, I've probably used 80 different mice ranging in price from $10 - $100+ and the LX7 is the only mouse I want to use at this point.

Customer Review: Excellant for the price...
Summary: 5 Stars

I happen to use the computer a decent amount, and I was get tired of using the cheap one-buttoned mouse that came with my eMac a horribly long 3 years ago. The wire kept getting caught onto the corner of my desk or some other annoying position, and I'm convinced it's haunted and alive.

So I asked someone for a good company to search for a wireless mouse that isn't going to skip around (That's all I heard about wireless mouses, "they skip around all of the time, dont get one!" so I was reluctant to buy one). I bought this one for 17 bucks refurbished, and I was shocked.
This doesn't skip at all, the little usb connector is tiny, and I think it has even smoother movement than my mouse with a wire... It also doesn't go to sleep randomly while you're trying to do something. It's got a nice amount of buttons, but not so much that you need a long list of each button's function.
The only complaints I have is that it's not VERY customizable with my Mac, such as using Exposé with the buttons, etc. (Edit-I would like to add that I got a Mac update and it now does work with Exposé fine.) But it has a good amount of features - such as one touch search - and I'm lucky it even lets me change the function of each button at all, anyway... It also makes it seem as if you can change each button's function in EACH different application, but that doesn't work either.

But that's fine, because any better of a mouse and I would have to pay 50 dollars more. This is well worth the price, and well worth your time. It's also better looking than in ANY advertised pictures I've seen. Buy it, if you're a nerd or if you're someone who rarely goes on but doesn't like their hand butchered every time they do.

It's comfortable, portable, and CHEAP yay

Customer Review: Pricy but worth it
Summary: 5 Stars

Was looking for a mouse cause my old LX3 which was goofing up a bit, and a friend recommended this to me.

At first I wasn't so sure: as a gamer who plays a lot, particularly TF2 (logged hours in the hundreds), I wouldn't stand for any sort of input lag or connectivity issues, and another friend had said he had nothing but trouble with wireless mice. The former though gave nothing but praise so I decided to check it out.

It's only been a month since I've had it so I can't really comment on how it'll be down the road, but everything has matched up to expectations. Exact size and shape of the LX3 so it's really comfortable for me (big hands), and with no noticeable lag: feels the same as my old LX3. The extra buttons are really handy for browsing as well as scripting and writing binds for, and without a wire my movement is only restricted by where my palm is set down.

So far, absolutely no issues. Connectivity has been flawless for me around my usual distance (a foot from receiver), even with my mug in between the mouse and receiver most of the time, and is effective up to 5 feet. Past that, it goes to 10, maybe even 12, without the extension, although connection will depend on positioning. No issues with software, just plug and play.
I thought the two extra buttons might get in the way seeing as your fingers would go over them, but I have never in the last month accidentally hit either.

All in all am satisfied with this product, worth the somewhat hefty price tag. Not a brand spanking new design, but great product Logitech.
I can't speak for longevity, but my LX3 lasted a year and a half, so here's hoping it stays with me for a good long time.

Customer Review: Overall a decent cordless mouse
Summary: 4 Stars

Overall, I've found this mouse to be a joy to use. I have two of the LX7 mice--one at home and one at work.

Pros:
- Very responsive. Wouldn't know it's a cordless except that it has no annoying wires attached to it. I use it for office apps, software development, web browsing, etc. I do not use it for gaming or detail graphics work, so I cannot comment on how well it works for those.
- Overall finish is superb. Feels good to the touch. Dark blue looks best in my opinion.
- Battery life is superb. First battery change was at about 6 months with daily use. I use standard alkaline AA. I like that it doesn't have a built in battery. This means batteries are user serviceable.
- Left and right buttons and wheel have the right amount of feedback. I rarely use the middle wheel button, but I do agree with others that it requires too much pressure.

Issues I have:
- It is a little small for large hands. Now and then I find my fingers feeling fatigue. It hasn't bothered me enough to stop using it. I use a computer 10-14 hours per day.
- The signal doesn't transmit very far as seen by erratic and poor response from the mouse. I had to use the included extension to place the receiver on my desk where it's not obstructed. Works fine like this.
- Does not work well with USB KVM switches (I've tried I-O Gear and Belkin so far). I personally believe this to be more of a limitation in the USB KVM switches.
- One of the two mice has an annoying squeak when you press the left button. I'm going to send it in for repairs.

Customer Review: Great wireless mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted to upgrade from my old Logitech "Mouseman" wireless optical mouse. It provided good service but was old technology (i.e., basic functionality and short battery life - 5 - 7 weeks). Note: good service occurred after a few months and Logitech upgraded its SW for the Mac.

I was looking for a good general purpose wireless optical mouse that provided

1 - better battery life
2 - left/right scrolling
3 - back button for web sites
4 - comfortable ergonomics
5 - OS X compatible

After researching a number of Logitech mice I narrowed my choices to three (LX7, LX8 and MX620). I ruled out the MX620 as overkill for my needs and the LX8 because the back button was on the side and I have large hands.

I've been using the LX7 for a few days now and rate it as a great general purpose wireless optical mouse.

1 - The cursor motion is much smoother than my old mouseman
2 - The left/right scrolling is effortless with the scroll wheel tilt
3 - the top mounted back button is easy to use with my large hands
4 - the ergonomics are very good
5 - with the latest software it works fine with OS X

EDIT: Using this mouse about 7 hours a day and not turning it off in the evening, the battery life is about 6 months.

EDIT:EDIT: After 11 months had a minor problem with the mouse. Accessing Logitech customer service via their web site provided me with a solution in one day. I have never experienced customer service any better than that provided by Logitech!
