Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Harmony 659 Advanced Universal Remote Control - RefurbishedCustomer Review: Great buy -- simplified my life at a good price Summary: 5 Stars
I have had the Logitech Harmony 659 refurb for about a month now. It works as advertised -- does a great job of integrating all my AV devices. Setup was very easy via the Logitech web site. though at first the settings for my DVD player did not operate the player well. There was an update posted to the site about a week later that fixed everything. The buttons for "watch a movie", "watch tv" and "listen to music" make life easy. Push them and all the settings for the devices adjust at once. Just sit back and enjoy. The remote's screen is easy to read and the hard coded buttons logically laid out and easy to use.
Customer Review: excellent choice for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I have had this remote for little over a month now. I think all of the features it comes with are great. It was quite easy to set-up online. It was able to identify all of my components(including a stereo that no other remote could do universally). I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a cheap universal that can do everything. The only con I have is the positioning of some of the buttons. When using the Cable box feature the Page up/Page down are on opposite sides of the LCD. It would be convenient if they appeared on the same side above and below each other. But overall, a Great buy!!!
Customer Review: Harmony universal remote Summary: 3 Stars
I spent a lot of time on their website trying to set it up. Even after it's set up, trying to synchronize multiple actions to one button push is dicey, and work- around when everything doesn't work as expected requires knowlege and work. The main problem is getting your TV set to the proper input every time.
I found I couldn't just hand it to someone & have it work, and family members soon decided it was easier to use multiple remotes than learn to deal with it.
So I rated it fair. It will learn commands of many remotes. It won't simplify your tasks. So I only rated it fair.
Customer Review: Gone and Forgotten Summary: 2 Stars
I wanted so much to like my Harmony; however, it has been discarded along with my Compaq Intel 286 laptop. It took many weeks of back and forth with Logitech just to get the software disk to get the device to work and then I found myself asking for bailout funds to afford batteries. It went through batteries faster than my SUV goes through a tank of gas. Actually a tank of gas lasts longer than the AA batteries.
Forget that. The device is just not worth the hassle. If Logitech has any other remotes that work I'd love to try them but this one is a born loser. Sorry. Just don't do it.
Customer Review: Logitech Harmony Refurbised, Great Remote for the Price! Summary: 5 Stars
Logitech Harmony 659 Advanced Universal Remote Control - Refurbished. It did not take me long to program and figure it out. About a year ago I purchased a Refurbished Logitech Harmony 628. It did not work good, so I returned it.
The good think is that since I purchased the H628, that I had set-up the remote download for the A/V equipment that I had and still have. This made set-up a breeze.
So far I like the H659 very much.
I would recommened the 659.
