Customer Review: A snap to set up
Summary: 4 Stars

You would never know this is a refurbished unit by looking at it. It looks brand new. After reading some of the reviews, I thought it would be a challenge to set it up but I fortunately had a great experience.
Out of the box it came, CD into computer, and off I went! Tip: Gather all device brand names and model numbers before you start. I also needed the owner's manual for the television which told me where everything is connected to.
Once finished programming the remote, I got a prompt to go use it. This is the point where I usually find whatever I did was wrong, and the darned thing won't work...followed by endless calls for tech support, threatening the computer, you know the drill. So off with the remote I went, saying to myself "this isn't going to work". I was wrong! Everything worked beautifully and I have now gotten rid of the remote clutter on my coffee table.
One negative is the LCD screen is a little hard to read.
This unit is definitely worth the value

Customer Review: Replaced all my remotes
Summary: 5 Stars

I received this refurbished remote and was expecting that it would certainly replace my three remotes to my DirecTV HD DVR, Panasonic HTIB, and Samsung 40" LCD, but I was also expecting that I would have to dig for some buttons, like the recorded shows and DVD "next chapter" and whatnot.

Not so. The LCD screen on the remote changes based on the activity you're on. When watching a DVD, the "Chapter +" is labeled on the LCD screen. Similarly, when watching cable TV, the recorded show "List" is clearly labeled, as well. I haven't found a button or function that was not dedicated to one button yet. As for batteries, I'm still on the supplied Duracells, although I can see this going through them fast. I'll be sure to get the lithiums next time.

I've ordered two more of these. I have four units in my living room... DirecTV receiver, Toshiba HD DVD player, Yamaha HTIB, and 50" Samsung plasma. The remaining remote will be a gift. Highly recommended!

Customer Review: Great Product!!!
Summary: 4 Stars

This logitech remote is amazing! Its very easy to use/customize to fit all of your media devices. I have a Harmon Kardon AVR-235, a Zenith LCD, a Panasonic DVD/VCR combo, iPod Dock, and a Motorolla Verizon Fios Set top box and I have no problems at all operating them with this remote. The "Activity" presets are really cool, but this is where I find the ONLY flaw in this remote. A lot of times the remote will either not turn on the desired set of devices, or leave them on the wrong settings (for instance, if you hit "Watch TV" the tv should be on, the set top box should be on, and the AVR-235 should be on and set to Video 1, but when you hit the button the AVR won't come on). When this happens there is a convenient "Help" key that will adjust the issue, but it can get kind of annoying... With that said, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would suggest it to anyone wishing to eliminate the need of multiple remotes... SO worth it.

Customer Review: OK remote, but not as good as I was hoping
Summary: 3 Stars

It has less buttons than Logitech's more expensive remotes, so more of the features are in the lcd screen menu. The problem with that is, you have to push the "next" button to get to each page of the features. If you don't pay attention, and pass the item you're looking for, you have to keep pushing through the menus until you get back to the beginning and then start all over again. There is no way to go back once passed. It is nice because you can go on line and set this remote up to work most features on your devices, like sleep modes, that a lot of remotes don't have. It is battery operated, and it goes through batteries faster than any remote I've ever used before, but that's because of all the lcd menus and lights. I replace batteries about monthly. I'd say it's over priced, even at the referb price, but it's a good replacement remote... just not great.

Customer Review: not worth the money
Summary: 1 Stars

This remote can control just about anything you have in your house, except the cat and your wife. However, it forgets the programming A LOT. More often than not, I have to go through the 'self help' program on the remote to get it straight again.

Second minus is there is a second or two delay in operation of your device from the time you press the buttons. It also takes WAY too long to change input options once you select which device to watch or use. There is no way to manually change the input. It automatically selects it for the device you programmed for that input option.

Third minus is you have to install software on your computer in order to program your remote. This is really not all that bad, just unnecessary.

I bought a Phillips Presitgo and love it. It was cheaper too!
