The system requirements state that this item is compatable with pc and mac. I am a mac user and once I received the item I found out it is not compatable with Mac. Your computer must have 6 audio outputs to accomodate each speaker. Mac has never made a computer with this many outputs so I don't know why they claim it to be Mac compatable...nor do I know why anyone would ever have to have 6 outputs for an audio system on there computer. This product was poorly designed and poorly describe...it is antiquated...Amazon would let me return the item either and in fact they never responded to my request about this matter...Do not purchase this itme...Customer Review: Great sound for a low price

I got this to enhance the sound effects from Windows video games. The sound is great and having sounds come from behind increases the immersion in the games that are programmed to take advantage of this. You need to have a sound card that has at least 3 output jacks for the sound (front, center/sub, and rear) to fully use this product. There is also an AUX jack for connecting an ipod or other sound device. I agree that music doesn't sound as good and the vocals are washed out a bit. But for most purposes and most people, you can't beat this set of speakers for sound quality at the price. There was a $[...] rebate when I bought them.Customer Review: G51 speakers

I bought my speakers based on what I read in other reviews. Several reviewers said they sound as good or better than Bose speakers. I don't agree. Although I've never listened to Bose speakers in my home only in a store so I don't know if they do something at the displays that make them sound so good i.e. choice of music and soundtrack samples. I don't get that presence from these speakers. However they do sound good and they are alot less expensive. I guess you get what you pay for.

This speaker set is perfect for my needs: general sounds on computer and occasional listening to music. Love the surround 5.1 sound even on stereo inputs. The listed frequency response is 36 Hz to 20 KHz. I have a stereo sound test CD which goes from 10 Hz to 12 KHz. The speakers could be heard from 30 Hz to the hightest frequency of 12 KHz. I also appreciate the non-skid, weighted control pod --it makes it so easy to turn it on and off, change levels of surround, bass, volume, etc. Output of 155 watts is twice what I can use. All-in-all, a great speaker system. I recommend it.Customer Review: Great stuff

These speakers are great. I've played tons of movies on them, played games, and just listened to music. They haven't given me a single problem and they sound great. I'm no audiophile so I can't get too technical but they work and sound awesome to me.
The only issue I can come up with to mark down on them is that I can't plug in headphones into the little control pod with one hand. Its a tad annoying but that's the only issue I've come across.
Other than that its been great and it will be even greater when I get my mail in rebate cash back.
