Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech G25 Racing Wheel

Customer Review: Fantastic
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my first wheel I have ever purchased. The strange thing was I meant to shop for some rudders to play with my flight sim and somehow ended up with this instead. I was amazed that how great everyone talked about it, and I ended up deciding to buy it. The most shocking thing is not one website nor does Logitech mention that it works with Mac computers and no need to download any drivers. The game recognized it once I inserted the usb plug. It also of course works for window computers and I can even use the brake, gas, and clutch as rudders for flight sims. Seems like I got more than I originally wanted and I am happy.

1. works with mac computers
2. works with window computers
3. can even act as rudders for flight sims
4. works with Play Station

If you do not mind dropping the $300.00 I would recommend this, the steering wheel is great to the feel, much better than my real one. The stick shift is nice as well and comes with many programable buttons as there are also two on the wheel.

Customer Review: Happy customer
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been using this product daily for the past 12 months. I am a very heavy user as I am an iRacing enthusiast (racing simulator available on PC). After one year, this product still works like new.

For the price, this wheel can not be beat; it is an excellent value. That said, I do wish Logitech made a more expensive premium wheel/pedal set, as I'd like to move on to higher-priced features like:

-load cell brake pedal
-load cell or magnet-style contact-free throttle and clutch pedals
-Option for stiffer pedal springs (note that these are plenty stiff for most users, I just like them really stiff)
-More linear action for the pedals (as seen in long-arm pedals like the CSTs)
-More buttons on the wheel (even the 6 included on the G27 are not enough for my preference)
-More options for shifter paddle size/weight/action

Other companies' premium wheels/pedals just don't compare to Logitech's combination of excellent customer service, value, and quality.

Customer Review: Great for the money
Summary: 4 Stars

First the good.
The feedback is strong and prescise. Very smooth steering and it will immerse you into the game. NFS Most Wanted and GTR 2 are great with this wheel. The shifter is awesome, although you do not want to beat it up. A ginger approach makes it work best. The pedals are very solid with good tension, although you have to have very small feet if you are going to use all three. I use my clutch for the brake forgetting the middle pedal.
Now for the bad.
The clamping system works, but for how long? Plastic screws are only going to last so long, and you have to really tighten them for the wheel to stay put. There are mounting nuts on the bottom, but are you going to drill 2 holes through your desk? Microsoft has a superior clamp in my opinion. The shifter works well, and I am sure it will last with care. Be nice to it though. The pedals are to close together. Other than that, they are perfect.
Overall, I highly recommend this wheel. For the money you can't get a better wheel.

Customer Review: Don't hesitate to buy this wheel
Summary: 5 Stars

If you haven't bought this wheel yet, buy it. It's worth the price. I picked this up in November of 2006, and I haven't regretted it at all. The build quality is fantastic, and everything seems to be very durable. The resistance of the clutch, brake and gas pedals seems to be about perfect. The gearbox works very well in manual mode. It does feel a bit light, but I've slammed the gearshift around for months now with ill effects---you can be very aggressive with it without worrying about breaking it. Also, the force feedback is very strong---comparable to the force feedback found in arcade racers.

There is still limited support for the 6-speed gearbox, but more games are coming out with support for it every day. I use it primarily for GTR2 and GT legends on the PC, but Gran Turismo HD is supposed to support it, as well as PGR 3 and Forza 2 on the Xbox 360. All in all, this wheel/pedal/shifter combo is a great value. I don't think I'll have to replace it for many years.

Customer Review: Best gaming wheel ever
Summary: 5 Stars

Ever since I got this wheel in early January (it is now May), I can't stop playing GTR2. It is really a joy to use. Thanks to the 3 pedal setup, I now know how to heel-and-toe like a pro. The pedals are pretty realistically weighted; the brake pedal is the hardest to press, the clutch second hardest, and the throttle feels like - a throttle. The wheel feedback is so strong that my shoulders can actually get sore. The only downside is when the shifter is in the conventional "H" pattern mode, shifter feedback is totally unrealistic. It is virtually impossible to antipate if a shift will land in the 1st, 3rd, or 5th gate, or similarly in the 2nd, 4th, or 6th gate unless you shift slowly and deliberately. But such slow shifting is uncompetitive. Fortunately, sequential shift mode works very well, and staying with realism, corresponds to that fact that most GT's have sequential shifting anyway.

If you can afford the bucks, there is no better gaming wheel.
