Customer Review: the last wheel you will buy for PC gaming
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this wheel for several racing simulators including GTR, GTR2, GT Legends, R-Factor, Toca2, Richard Burns Rally, Dirt, and a few more. the wheel comes with software that lets you tune it to exact specifications before gameplay, including deadzones, sensitivities, wheel lock, force feedback strength and more. The wheel itself is leather wrapped over brushed steel which is very attractive and realistic. there are 2 red pushbuttons on the wheel itself, which i think are the same buttons that come on a real Momo wheel. the padel shifters are also brushed steel and have a very realistic feel to them when shifting. the pedals are brushed steel as well, they depress super smoothly which gives a very precise feel. the brake is realistically more firm than the throttle or clutch pedals. the gear shift knob is a leather wrapped ball with a plastic top with H-pattern. unfortunatly the shifter feels a bit sloppy when using the 6spd gearbox mode, its not as tight as a real gearbox would be. but when in sequential mode the shifts feel very smooth. there are buttons galore including 4 top buttons in a diamond pattern, a D-pad, and 4 buttons in sequence below the D-pad, which makes for 14 programmable buttons total for the wheel and shifter.

this wheel is the night and day difference for gameplay on racing simulators. old games you own will be reborn when you start using this wheel. its precision allows for smooth heal-toe shifting, and the forcefeedback lets you know exactly when your tires are slipping. understeer and oversteer are completely tuneable now that you can feel what your car is really doing, no more guesswork.

the one negative i have is that there are wires everywhere. one for power source, gearbox, pedals, and usb cord. i would be absolutely blown away if this wheel used wireless technology instead

Customer Review: Expensive, but worth it
Summary: 4 Stars

As the title says, its expensive, but definitely worth it. I was afraid when I purchased this, I have never owned a wheel before and wanted to have the best I could get for my money. I am not disappointed nor do I regret it. All parts are very durable being made out of stamped steel, even the gear shifter is a steel shaft, although when using the gear shifter you have to be a bit gentle or you miss gears in H-Shift mode.

The steering wheel is a decent size for what its used for and fits your hand perfectly. I am 6'3" and have big hands, this wheel is as thick as the one in my Chevy Blazer, and feels just as comfortable with its leather bindings. the shifting knob is small but easily used and it does let you know its there. The clamp jaws are plastic but the screws they travel on are metal. Dont let the plastic fool you though, they are very strong and this wheel, once clamped down, does not move. Same with the shifter (with proper use).

The foot pedals are great too, the brake is very firm and you really have to push it, just like a real brake pedal. I dont use the clutch pedal, so I cant comment on that. The accepterator pedal though isnt near as stiff, I can push it with my big toe and feel some resistance, but I guess real cars are the same these days with the drive by wire technology from what I hear.

All in all, I am happy with this buy, even though it set me back a bit. oh, before I forget, beware the force feedback, make sure you have a good grip on the wheel, especially if you have never used a force feedback wheel before, it will rip the wheel right out of your hands :). Luckily the wheel itself comes with a setup program (Vista version is downloadable on the logitech site) where you can set the amount of force used, and also many game may have the same option in game.

Customer Review: Undisputed road experience king
Summary: 5 Stars

This wheel is unquestionably the pinnacle centerpiece attainable by consumers for a unique and realistic driving experience. Though at a price point many would not consider to buy, it is more than a symbol for the elite. This device has great compatibility across systems, including the PS3, and supports all of the most expected features of all racing games be it arcade or simulation.

The 900 degree turn are supported by less than a handful of games, however all other features work on other games, minus the sequential shift on some. For most this is more than suitable given many still prefer paddle shift or keyboard hotkeys, the functions that do not work on a garden variety game are really not noticeable.

I highly recommend trying out Live for Speed S2, an independently developed simulator which bodes well when bundled with this controller. Give it as a gift or make it the cornerstone of your epic LAN party, for no one can refuse to entice their childhood Nascar or Indianapolis dreams, nor can the allure of such a well crafted device be ignored.

If you want fast paced driving, with less of that pedantic micromanagement, go for a recent Need for Speed game, such as Carbon, ProStreet, or Undercover which are supported by Logitech for use with this controller. It can make for a rough and challenging experience filled with bumps and shunts and twisted metal carnage.

Other games to try with this controller: Colin McRae DiRT, American Pro Trucker, Gran Turismo 5, or rFactor.

All in all, if you play racing games a lot, and want a realistic experience complete with the natural smell of leather, grab a pair of gloves, get a new racing game to add to your collection and feel the rush with the G25.

Customer Review: Fantastic product. Fully PS3 compatible.
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm not an eloquent guy, and certainly not a frequent Amazon reviewer, but I just thought I'd clear up questions if anyone else is in the same boat I was (PS3 owner looking for a wheel).

I love driving sims for PS2, and thought the G25 would be a great way to get my dad to play some games too. I wasn't sure how the G25 would work with the PS3, but lo, it's flawless. Hooked up via USB, the wheel can fully mimic the function of the Driving Force Pro, so Gran Turismo and ToCA give you everything they've got. It also has a lot of future potential with the Gated gearbox and clutch-pedal that most current games don't use. The only reason you might keep a sixaxis handy is for the "home" button to quit to the XMB (ps3 OS).

"Feedback" is an understatement, as the word makes me think of the N64 rumble-pack. Most of you potential buyers are already aware of the wheel pulling you out of turns, or giving enough feedback so you know just when you're about to lose grip through a corner. But the G25 can be so subtle that it almost creates a "3D" feedback map. I'm not sure how to explain it, but when your in-game left rear tire hits a rumble strip, it feel like that specific tire has really hit a rumble strip. I have no idea how they do this with just two force motors in the G25.

In any event, the quality of the road-response is absolutely worth the price, which is already pretty decent here with free shipping. The DFP was tempting, as I've tried it on a PS2, but this wheel is much more subtle, much better looking, and will be the gold-standard for future driving games. No regrets here, just a happy father-son bonding experience and less wear on our real-world cars.

Customer Review: G25-best in its class
Summary: 5 Stars

The G25 is my very first video game wheel and I have been playing driving gameS for many years. Needless to say the transition was uneasy. After a few minutes of using it, I was ready to return it and never have another steering wheel but I gave it a chance and it was well worth it. Once you get used to it, it is very nice with many features that other wheels don't have. First and foremost the clutch, really puts you in the driver seat. You can definitely stall the car if you're not good at it. So if it is your case and you're not so attracted to this feature then go for the DFGT or other wheel with just brake and accelerator. The option of switching between H-shift or inline is neat and you can also use paddle shifting for F1 cars and newer japanese cars. This option allows you to shift through all the gears, 7/8 for some cars, which is a remedy to the only 5 speeds/reverse with the H-shifter. The pedals are very nice, sturdy and solid, made out of steel, no plastic in here!!!. The steering wheel has a good size, also made out of steel and is wrapped in leather all-around. Equipped with all the buttons you need for PS2 or PS3. It has attaching clips on the steering wheel and shifter, which is also wrapped in leather.
Overall, excellent quality, really nice finish and really does its jobs. Prepare for sore arms and shoulders if you use the force feedback option, which goes from 1 to 5. It auto calibrates when you turn on your game system and when you start a game. Compatible with many driving games for PS2 and PS3. Would recommend an evolution playseat or Obutto to complement it. No complaints and definitely no regrets.
