Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 with Vibration Feedback (Black)Customer Review: Great Controller Summary: 5 Stars
I received this controller only two days after I ordered it, even though I chose the super saver shipping option. The controller itself is quite heavy due to the two AA batteries, which is nice.
The controller design is similar to that of the Playstation 2, but the directional pad is nicer as it is not segmented, better suited to fighting games and original Nintendo games.
The battery life seems to be good, I'm still using the batteries that came with it. The wireless response is also very good, and the controller will work from across the room, which is nice if you hook your computer up to your TV.
This is the first wireless controller that I have purchased, as previous experience with wireless controllers (specifically the Nintendo Wavebird) has not been impressive. However, I would highly recommend this controller.
Customer Review: Works perfect with Vista Ultimate 64bit Summary: 5 Stars
For easy installation on Windows Vista 64 bit, don't even use the cd software it came with. Just go [...] and download the driver for vista 64 or vista 32. After installing the driver, it automatically searches and finds the device. After it installed the controller successfully, I plugged in the second controller, and Windows automatically installed the device for it as well.
Easiest hardware installation yet on Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. I couldn't be happier, but don't expect the rumble pack to work with all games. My wife and I use two of these Logitech Cordless controllers to play Lego Batman and similar games, and it works perfectly. Very nice not having cords in the way, and there is no lag. We have a projector TV and sit far away from the computer/receiver, and have no problems with getting a signal.
Outstanding product.
Customer Review: Solid product Summary: 4 Stars
Another product that shows why Logitech is so popular. It feels solid in every way and I'm sure it will provide good service for a long time.
So why only 4 starts? Setup gave me some troubles. It froze two different machines during setup of the driver. But after a hard reboot, the driver seemed to be installed and working. Also, the mapping software for mapping Gamepad controls to keyboard/mouse inputs was not the best (or at least didn't work good for me). For those looking to use this as a mouse/input device for your computer (when not playing games), I recommend trying "Xpadder", a freeware piece of software that is excellent.
Note: I'm not actually using this Gamepad for gaming so I can't review it in that way. I'm doing a research project and this just happens to fit the bill.
Customer Review: Logitech can stop making controllers Summary: 2 Stars
It's clear that after 10 years of buying different Logitech controllers that Sony has a patten on simplicity.
Sony must have a patten on a rounded housing for the analog sticks or why else would Logitech, the best Computer accessory company, make the same poor square housing year after year. This make the analog completely unusable when your playing sports games that require an exact location of the analog to make a pass or shot. Absolute failure on Logitech's part.
The raised buttons aren't the greatest either but you can get by. It's a bit heavy and a rechargeable version would be more ideal that batteries but even that is ok.
The controller would receive a 4-5 star if not for the square analog housing.
Returned.
PS2 controller plugged back in to PC.
Customer Review: Logitech did it's best... Summary: 5 Stars
I got this controller about 3 moths ago and I have been using this thing since then. Here's what I think:
Pros:
- Great Range (I think even more than what is written on specs)
- Stable, durable..
- Neither too heavy nor too light..
- Fast response time..(I couldn't feel any difference between this and a wired one)
- Plug&(little installation)&Play ( Nearly Plug&Play )
Cons: (Not a real con actually, thus I gave 5/5)
- If and only if you used to the PS terminology for buttons ( like rectangle, square etc.) you couldn't find any of it on these. Although it is not meant to be like PS contr. numbers seems like a little bit "too simple" :)
All in all, great controller if you are looking for something to get with your PES (Winning Eleven) on PC...
