Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 with Vibration Feedback (Black)Customer Review: Nice looking pad, but I don't need rumble or wireless. Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very nice looking pad:
You've got 4 standard fire buttons, 2 L's and 2 R's just like a Playstation pad, 2 buttons in the middle (9 and 10) which could act as Start and Select, 2 analog sticks who's tops also act as buttons, effectively you have 12 buttons you can program, plus the "Mode" button which acts as a shift, allowing you to give each button a secondary feature. It also looks like they've changed their D-Pad from the sunk in, hard to push design of the Logitech Dual Action Gamepad model to a raised "cross" style D-Pad common on any NES, Sega or Playstation device. Smart move!
This looks like a promising model, but I will not buy it because A: Its $30. B: It has rumble and wireless. Just extra cost for extra features that I don't even want. There are not many games that use rumble and I think the aspect is over-rated anyhow. I don't need wireless because most of the time I am playing I sit IN FRONT OF my computer. But other than that, this looks like a good pad for any PC or console emulation gamer.
Now if only they'd make the same thing, minus the rumble and wireless aspects.
Maybe within the price range of $19 - $25.

This controller is almost perfect.
It has great build quality so it doesn't feel cheap. It also has a nice shape to it: very comfortable to hold. And the software that comes with it is very robust.
You're given so many customizeable options..
- Deadzone: allows you to choose how far to move the stick back before your character moves
&
- Sensitivity
are just some options given to you to tune the controller to your liking.
Very, very, customizeable.
And it's wireless! Meaning no tangled cords. Its performance by the way is very, very, good. I've noticed no lag whatsoever.
One imperfection though are the #9 & #10 button placements. These are the top middle buttons that are unfortunately, placed above the 'mode' and vibration buttons. They should be BELOW these nonplayeable buttons so they could be more reachable.
But hey..I guess no product is perfect.
I give it 4/5. Would have been a 5 if button placements were more spot on. Nevertheless, a very solid effort that's worth the money. Logitech did good.
Customer Review: Great controller, very good value. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this gamepad for about $25 with shipping brand new. It's built very well and has buttons for pretty much any function you need, though I mainly have only used it for emulators. I play N64 and SNES games on my computer and the controller works well playing Goldeneye, Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, etc.
The wireless funtionality works well, it seems to be very smart about power conservation, as you can see from other reviews the batteries last a good while. The manual says the rumble-feature will be disabled when the batteries get low (you can turn this on/off with a button on the middle of the gamepad as well) and than the batteries should last another 100hrs. I assume the vibration feedback sucks up a lot of juice if you get that much additional time when it's off, so use it as you need to.
The wireless dongle is small, a little bigger than a mathcbox, and has an LED inside to display its status. (i.e. blinking at constant rate shows scanning mode when controller(s) not connected)
Great product esp. for the price. Can't go wrong here!
Customer Review: Round pegs in square holes... Summary: 3 Stars
I bought two of these controllers, but found that one of them wasn't working properly and I've sent it back to Amazon for a refund. The other controller works, but I'm a little disappointed with the design, specifically that the analog sticks were placed within SQUARE openings. This may seem like a minor issue, but it really comes into play when you're required to make circular motions with either stick (for example, it's much more difficult to perform a "hadouken"in Street Fighter IV when the analog stick gets caught in the corner). I've already bought a cordless Xbox 360 controller for Windows to replace the broken Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 and I couldn't be more satisfied with it. I've also had more success in getting the Xbox controller to actually rumble than I've had with the Logitech controller. This isn't a bad controller, but Xbox's is better. Go with the cordless Xbox 360 controller for Windows; you'll be glad you did! Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows
Customer Review: Nice and Solid, Good Accuracy Summary: 5 Stars
I bouught this to use with Tiger Woods '07. I had a devil of a time setting it up. Finally, with Logitech's help, got everything going. At first, I didn't think being wireless was going to be necessary, but as most can attest to it grows on you every quickly and eventually you'll want everything wireless in your life. The gamepad is very solid and has a good weight for my arms. I don't get tired of holding it after 18 holes. For me only, it is a little small. I guess my hands are big. I am still on my original set of batteries and I had the gamepad maybe two months now. Of course, I only play with it infrequently. Maybe battery life is terrible if I played with it daily. Overall, I happy with the purchase. I hope I will get more use out of it. I don't play many games, but I got a chance to play Tiger Woods '07 on the PS3 and it was so fun that buying this gamepad and the game was so much cheaper than buying a PS3. The experience has been close, but not the same. After using the PS3 that day, I am nearly hooked on getting one for myself. Just not at its current price point.
