Customer Review: Everything just works
Summary: 4 Stars

Short and simple review:

Pros
- Super easy installation, like installing a USB mouse.
- Highly customizeable software profiler for any game
- Good button feel; 10 usable buttons, not counting the Dpad and vibration and mode buttons.
- Comfortable shape (for small hands), not too light, not too heavy
- Good wireless range and freedom, wireless module is conveniently small and unassuming.
- Easy access to turn off vibration and mode switch for fast switching between D-pad and Analog
- Good looking controller

Cons
- questionable comfort for large hands; the way the handles are shaped, they feel that they are made for smaller hands.
- the angle of the handles are too vertical, not good for your wrists if you like holding the controller close to your body when you play. For optimal comfort, you would have to hold the gampad almost two feet away from your chest/stomach, so that your wrists don't bend too much.
- the D-pad feels loose and not stiff at all like other gamepads

Logitech also makes 2 other versions of this pad if you don't want to spend 30 dollars on this. A wired one with rumble, and a wired one without rumble.

Customer Review: Durable, works! Great Value!
Summary: 5 Stars

After connecting my desktop via HDMI to my 42" Sony Bravia 3LCD I wanted to play my PC games (and N53 EMU games!) at high-res just like my PS3. This is the answer.

The Software could be more graphic, I don't like the long menus you have to click through to assign the buttons. The directions are crap, the booklet is useless and it took me some time and frustration to set up. But, that being said, the controler is great.

Put simply, you have to click on a control, add a command, then press assign a name for the button and press the key on your keyboard to assign. You have to use a seperate interface for your mouse.

In the end I set it up like the PS3 controller. But you have to set up each and every game. It works real well once done. This is a heavy, solid, sturdy unit.

My one issue, no rechargable battery. A simple USB recharger would have been perfect for this.

I would aslo recomend a simple interface, have a graphic of the controller, click on a buton, assign a commnad, move on.

This worked perfect with games like "Clive Barker's Jerhico" and "Zelda 64" using the Project 64 Emu.

Buy it! It's the best PC control out there.

Customer Review: Stirred (control sticks), but not Shaken (vibe motors)
Summary: 4 Stars

I was looking for a good cordless controller by a brand that I know; Logitech caught my eye. Not that there is a lot of competition in the PC cordless joypad controller market.
I have experience with them having bought my joystick ('Extreme 3-D Pro, corded) from them. And while not perfect, it is a good stick, but sticks don't always perform well in certain games.
The games I had in mind were GTA: San Andreas and Far Cry, and Halo. And this controller does well in those games, better than I did with my joystick.
The only slight dissappointment is that while it does vibrate, I was expecting something as strong as on my ps2. Hence the title of my review here. My guess is that in an effort to conserve battery power (it's NOT rechargable. Reg. batts. here. :-( , they cut down on the power of the vibe motors.
There it is, my only nitpick. Otherwise it's a good buy, with many features: A matte finish that reduces slipping, auto power on by touching any button, programmable buttons, a good weighted 'solid' feel to the unit, rubber-like textured tops on the sticks, and nice wide shoulder buttons.
All-in-All a good joypad for a good price. You shouldnt be dissappointed. - Rob

Customer Review: Okay but get 360 controller instead
Summary: 3 Stars

Let's face it. Most pc gamepad cannot compete with console controller in terms of their precision and durability. I admit that this game pad is one of better ones around but still it is not as durable as I would like since I tends to be really hard on controller and I really don't want to worry about a controller breaks on me.

So why not use console controller for pc gaming? New Xbox controller works great with my games (mostly emulators) and I haven't had any compatibility problems yet. And if you search around, you will find a lot of positive review for that controller as well.

My suggestion would be to get Xbox 360 controller (wired) unless you have to have wireless feature now. (If you wait until end of the year 2006, microsoft will bring a wireless contoller that work with pc as well). Another knock on Xbox 360 controller is that it is little more expansive but I assure you that you get what you pay for and since logitech one costs 30 bucks anyway, there really isn't that much difference between them costwise. (Market place may have less expansive looking items but you will notice that you have to pay ridiculously high shipping cost. A well known ebay scam)

Customer Review: Rock solid, a joy to use
Summary: 5 Stars

I upgraded to this from a Logitech Precision USB gamepad (which in itself is a fantastic buy) and couldn't be happier. I basically grew tired of being teethered to my PC, even though the Precision's cord is plenty long, it's still a hassle. Now after just a few weeks of using the Rumblepad 2, I could never go back -- cordless is the way to go.

The gamepad works flawlessly with almost every game I've tried it with. I got it primarily for racing and sports games: Flatout, Flatout 2, the Need for Speed series, Grid, Crashday, etc. Works well with most sports games, except for the rumble feedback. Anyone who uses a gamepad to play first-person shooters on a PC, however, should stick with their consoles. FPS are meant to be played with mouse/keyboard - period.

I really like the Logitech software that lets you program the Rumblepad 2 to work with almost any game, especially those without native joystick support.

Absolutely no problems or complaints so far! No latency or range issues. The pad itself is ROCK SOLID and feels great in my hands. Can play long and hard without discomfort. For price and performance, you can't beat this! Way to go Logitech!
