Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave ProCustomer Review: If you want a mouse that tracks well... don't buy this! Summary: 2 StarsI wrote a review for the original keyboard, the wired version. Bottom line? Loved it!
I was wanting a wireless keyboard and mouse, I figured the mouse might not be the best (based off reviews) but I was hoping!
Bottom line, this setup is one of the most comfortable setups you can buy, bad thing is the mouse will not track right. (more on this soon) meaning you try and click something, the mouse "lags" or skips, then you move past your target (frustrating if you're trying to check your email, about as bad as death when trying to play a video game!).
So if you want a cheap wireless keyboard and mouse to use while connected to your tv? you'll love it. That's why I'm keeping this for my PC. If you plan on using this as your MAIN keyboard and mouse? SKIP IT! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S HOLY DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!!!
Long Review
The Keyboard.
This is a fantastic keyboard, I love the layout, the feel of the keys, everything. I think this is easily one of the most comfortable keyboards you can possibly own.
The palm rest feels amazing, and I just love this keyboard, so much so it KILLS ME to give this thing a bad review... but I must!
Cons: Half the time it's not responsive, meaning you try and press a button and it's not recognized. I play some games (was playing call of duty and battlefield), cant count the times I died because I just couldn't move. Couldn't jump, couldn't go left, couldn't do ANYTHING. Non responsive. I'm all of 6 inches from the wireless device, no love!
I had the usb stick on the back of my computer, that didn't go over well, put it on the top of my case... same problems. Put the keyboard right next to the usb dongle (put it on my desk) same problems!!!!!
Imagine this scenario...
You're playing a game, you got a 3 kill streak going (great if your using this keyboard / mouse!) then it happens, you spot this guy, you go after him, you start shooting, mouse acts up and starts lagging, you end up hitting the rock next to him, he sees you, starts shooting... you try and move out of the way... not happening... the keyboard becomes unresponsive and you just die!
Then you respawn, and you can't move! You just get killed! (Awesome right?!)
The Mouse
You thought the keyboard was bad? pffft I was being easy on it, heck I love it (compared to this pos)!
The Good.
Feels great, amazing in your hand, the usb charger is ac powered, meaning it takes no usb slots on your computer (good and bad) good because no extra slots getting used. Bad because you CANNOT make it wired. I thought if the wireless was bad I could always plug it in and use it as a wired mouse (like the Razer Mamba)... lol... silly me! It's wireless only!
Again the mouse is very comfortable, fits well in your hand, and you can use it all day (sadly I have for about a week!) But if the mouse doesn't track....
The Cons. (I could write a book here, but I'm going to show some restraint ;))
The tracking on this thing is horrible. I thought my old mouse pad was bad (razer gaming exact pad which I paid almost 50 bucks for), so I bought another gaming pad (a high end one (the razer megasoma) and no love. Same problems. Let me walk you through 2 typical scenarios!
Scenario 1 (general pc workflow)
You're listening to some music, you click to minimize the window (or heck maximize) and instead you end up clicking the close button, or accidentally moving something, (who knows... this thing is crazy!) I've accidentally moved stuff to folders because the mouse acts NUTS!
Scenario 2 (high end gaming workflow)
You're playing a game, you spot a "bad guy" and you zoom in to shoot him, you get ready to click the fire button and your mouse goes NUTS, the cursor jumps to the left or the right, or (even worse) you lock on and start shooting... he moves... but you can't move your mouse (nor zoom back out because the mouse hangs up!) This mouse is single handedly responsible for destroying my KDR in games (meaning how often you kill someone instead of being killed). (If you're thinking "hey why don't you move out of the way!" good idea... oooppps, forgot, the keyboard doesn't work! heck I'm having problems typing this! asdlajsdlaksjdald
In fact, the only thing this mouse is good for is knifing, and not even all that good either. I have the middle mouse button mapped as my knife, and sometimes I switch weapons instead of knifing (because of how sensitive the wheel is).
Simply put, you will get killed, owned, slapped, and possibly even banned, because of how HORRIBLE you will be if you use this mouse.
BOTTOM LINE:
4/5 For the person who wants to use this setup on their couch when using the tv with their desk. They just need to click on the web, play some causal games, or select the next movie on netflix or hulu. This will work fine, and is quite comfortable (if not a big large for those needs).
1/5 for anyone who plans on using the mouse and keyboard for day to day operations! (just now I was trying to hit "play again" in windows media player and accidentally started a game of battlefield! how can someone even make this stuff up!)
I don't know what the issue is, I think it has something to do with the wireless, but it does not work right.
I hooked up an old ancient keyboard and mouse and everything works fine, no issues at all.
I recommend this keyboard (but buy the wired version), and I can't recommend this mouse... heck it has even "shed" on my mouse pad (black stuff is on it). All in all a horrible combo.
What do I recommend instead? Here's my new setup!
Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard (Black)
Razer Mamba Wireless Gaming Laser Mouse 5600 DPI
Razer Megasoma Professional Gaming Mouse Mat

Logitech Wave Keyboard
I love that keyboard, the only con is it's not illuminated (which makes it hard to use at night if you want to play a game or even use the computer in the dark).
Recommendation: Skip this keyboard mouse combo and use one of the above setups.
The reason this review is 2 stars is because it does have some use for those who want to use it on their couch, but for anyone else. SKIP IT!
