Customer Review: Takes a licking and still ticking
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this keyboard/mouse combo in 9-28-06 and the keyboard is still working perfectly. I did not use the mouse due to the fact I like a Trackball mouse. I sit in a recliner with a dual monitor setup that has an arm that swings over my armrests. My keyboard sits on my lap while I type. I have dropped this keyboard about 7-10 times, while sitting it on my table next to my chair, and it still works perfectly. I even had two keys pop off (we have hardwood floors) and I just picked them up and popped them back on. It only did that once. When this keyboard hits the floor, my wife asks if I am OK. It hits that hardwood pretty hard. As far as the mouse, I have no idea how well that works.

I never noticed any lag time, but another review stated it did have some lag. So, I tested it out using "asdf" and "jkl;", and sure enough, it does have a lag time. I can not type 80-100 words a minute - not yet anyway. I am around 70 words. Unless you typing like Data on Star Trek you will never notice, I didn't. Not sure if it is keyboard related or PC related. I feel it is PC due to it types the correct letters.

Customer Review: Good wireless keyboard and mouse
Summary: 4 Stars

This keyboard and mouse work quite well and I don't have many serious complaints. However, I just had to put this review in to mention the HOME, END, INSERT, PAGEUP keys are all kinds of mixed-up.

If you are a programmer or developer of any kind, it will take a LOT of getting used to to become familiar with the HOME and END key positions. They're setup in a queer 6x2 matrix with HOME & END, INSERT & PAGEUP, DELETE & PAGEDOWN in that order. You're constantly hitting END when you mean PAGEUP and toggling INSERT on and off as you type. It's maddening!

Using the scroll button on the mouse to click on hyperlinks to open them in another tab (or window) is a little tricky and takes some getting used to as well. Usually you end up scrolling down before you get the scroll wheel fully depressed. I also ended up disabling the left-right scroll since that was somewhat flaky as well, but I have never used that feature anyway so didn't miss it.

Anyway, do some touch-typing on this keyboard, particularly the HOME keys to see if it works for you. Other than that, this keyboard and mouse work well.

Customer Review: Great keyboard but the mouse boarders on unusable
Summary: 2 Stars

The keyboard in this set lives up to the hipe. I would have paid more and still been happy with it. It feels as though it was modified for my hands. The keys are almost silent. The only complaint I had was that the right shift key is much smaller that on most keyboards making it easy to miss.

The Logitech MX 600 laser mouse is a different story. It boarders on unusable. Actually the only way I could get it to work was to use it on top of one of my O'Reilly books. The angle that creates made my wrist hurt after a while. If this mouse is so sensitive as to require a special surface then Logitech should include a mouse pad that has a surface it can work with.

I tried several mouse pads, and no mouse pad at all. On any surface but my O'Reilly books it is extremely jerky, or just does not respond at all.

Compare all of that to the $10 LED mouse I was using before. It worked on every surface I used, and did not require any mouse pad at all.

The mouse turned out to be such a problem I eventually had to return the set as I could not take it any more.

Customer Review: Stand-out Star of the Desktop
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this product to replace a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard that I really loved. As a medical transcriptionist, I am an obsessive perfectionist about my keyboard. When it was time to replace the worn-out MS ergo, I spent an entire day researching the current offerings.

This Logitech Cordless model is my new best friend. It worked right out of the box, truly plug 'n play--I never bothered to install the included software. It also works perfectly--there is no sluggishness or unresponsiveness that sometimes plagues wireless keyboards.

My old Microsoft keyboard would frequently cause a "Keyboard Not Detected" error during reboot, requiring a second reboot, but this keyboard has not done that once, which has eliminated a major recurring hassle.

The ergonomics are perfect for me personally; I love the removable wrist rest (and wouldn't dream of removing it).

I really tried to think of a negative, but there just isn't even a tiny one. For me, this Logitech wireless is a gem and I am planning to buy a couple extras to have on hand.
