Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech 2.4 GHz Cordless Presenter (Black)

Customer Review: Perfect tool for Presenters
Summary: 5 Stars

+Vs
1)Brilliantly simple installation with laptops. Plug and play. No worries about drivers etc
2)Pretty decent rage. I tested it going to another room with a single wall in between and it worked! (Two people were required for this test, if you're wondering)
3)ALL required options present. Lazer pointer,Prev/Next Slide, Black out,On/Off for battery power consumption, timer with 5-minute vibrating reminder(pretty awesome),volume adjustment(wtf?).. among others. It basically has everything you need to worry about for presenting on stage.

-Vs
1) Kind of cluttered design. Buttons all over the place. (But considering the functions it provides, this is acceptable). If they can get a more zen-like design out, it will be super-cool.
2)Mild annoyance is the clicking sound on prev/next buttons. If you're in a closed room conference, the clicking sound is audible. While presenting, you don't want people to come to know of the gadget in your hand making the clicking sounds and then causing the slides to progress etc. They're already thinking about asking you where you bought that device from and have completely forgotten what you were saying in the presentation.

final conclusion: This baby just works! IMO better than any alternatives out there.

Customer Review: A near-perfect presenter
Summary: 4 Stars

Logitech 2.4 GHz Cordless Presenter
I've needed a good presenter, and this one fills the bill! I have a Logitech blue-tooth mouse that doubled as a presenter, but it often drops off line; it happened once in the middle of a presentation! That is an inconvenience that I can live well without. Besides, the mouse is too bulky. The Logitech presenter is the near-perfect remedy for this. The wireless connection hasn't failed me yet, and the size is a good fit. The added pointer, timer, and battery-life indicator are welcomed bonuses to a fine product. Add to that a USB dongle that fits into the unit, along with a nice pouch for storage! I had a presentation recently with three other group members. After a very brief lesson on the Logitech's operation, my group members had little trouble. The only issue that kept it from getting a full five stars is the occasional accidental pressing of the volume button. This causes a volume indicator to appear on the screen. Perhaps better placement of this button would benefit, as it is located where the right thumb rests on the unit. Removal of the the on-screen volume indicator is another possible remedy. Other than that, the unit is a solid performer.

I was influenced by other reviews to purchase this product. I am thoroughly pleased. I am not hightech, but here are my reasons for liking what I have received:

1. It has been easy to install on both Vista and XP computers. Simply plug and play. I can take it anywhere and use it.

2. It runs PowerPoint very well.

3. The blackout feature was a plus that I had not considered but have used regularly.

4. It works in a large auditorium and church sanctuary without a hitch.

5. All the control buttons seem well placed: forward, backward, laser pointer, volume, black screen, launch/F5, timer.

6. The volume and laser pointer work outside of powerpoint, so it gives the device a bit of versitility that I appreciate and have used.

I tend to fiddle with something in my hand when I am "up front," so I have accedently pushed a control button when not intending to. That's my problem, not the controler's. I can hold it in a way that avoids this problem.

Also, I have not as yet used the timer function to any extent. But it is nice to know I have a nudge or nag function to get my attention.

As I said, I am well pleased and would consider buying another if the need arose.

Customer Review: Nice design and great usability
Summary: 5 Stars

The Logitech cordless presenter is about the fifth presenter that I've used or owned over the years.

Logitech has done a great job all round with this one. It's small enough to be almost invisible, and not an issue if you need to hold it for a few hours.

They've provided a very useful set of controls so one button press allows you to: black the screen (typing B in PowerPoint) or set it back on; move forwards and backwards through your presentation; and start or stop the whole presentation.

I've used the built-in to give me 10-minute warnings so I don't run over my time on a session. And I like the on-off switch to save battery power and the built-in laser pointer.

The design on the USB dongle is excellent. I've broken a presentation device in the past because I stowed the dongle in the wrong way and was unable to get it back out. Logitech has made this virtually impossible.

The carrying case is a useful way to protect the presenter device when, like mine, it's lying at the bottom of a bag all the time.

I highly recommend this for anyone who is doing presentations, even if you're only doing a few presentations a year, this really makes it a lot easier.

Customer Review: Unbelievably GREAT product
Summary: 5 Stars

I have tried most of these items on the market. I own and use this one. In fact, I have bought them now for everyone on our team. They are so good, it's hard to imagine how you'd improve it. One only has to use any of the others (there are several popular models) where the forward and backward buttoms are not OBVIOUS to know brilliant this simple layout is. You always, instantly, know which button to press. And, it's a large button, not some small one or some little jog wheel where you have to remember whether up is forward or down is forward (neither is obviously intuitive). But on this Logitech unit. the forward button is the one to the right (like reading, as least for Westerners). Going back, well, it's the left one. The added button to instantly blank the screen and the built in timer and laser pointer are just added benefits to what you want the thing most to do well.

Lastly, I note that I have given various large keynote addresses with this model where I am a good 80 to 160 feet from the computer running the presentation (guessing, but I'm talking in the back of a ballroom from the front) and the signal gets there and it works.

There could be a better one of these, but I do not know how.
