Customer Review: Logitech Notebook Kit MK605 Keyboard, Mouse, and Laptop Stand: A No-Brainer Choice!

I want to sound as neutral & objective as I could possibly be while reviewing this product. The only problem is, I just love it! So I went out in search for a complimentary accessory set to my Lenovo'd ThinkPad Edge 14". I needed a mouse,laptop riser/stand and inevitably a keyboard. At that point I've got to the point where I've already had enough with wires cluttering & literally taking over my desk space. I wanted all peripherals to be WIRELESS. The price was also an important factor.
Shortly after I started my conquest for the perfect combination of design, performance & value; I realized there are only two manufacturers out there who are competing for for excellence & better customer experience in this category. Accordingly, I narrowed my search result down to Logitech and Microsoft.
However, and after going through literally all the reviews, YouTube videos I could possibly find, I decided that this set is right for me. Here's a buyer's tip, although I usually shop my needs online, Amazon to be precise, I found this item at a shockingly lower price on another online retailer website. I still think Amazon is an ultimate shopping destination since it guarantees a great deal of online security.
Back to my favorable Notebook Kitty!
Things I liked:
*Overall, compact & sleek design.
*Set up was a breeze. Pretty much plug-n-play! I think some reviewers wrote something about downloading some software. I found a mention of that in the User's Manual (p.11). It mainly is for those who want to reconfigure the Function Keys (F1-F12) but I'm happy with the original presetting. I just never happened to need any of that, period.
*The Receiver is so small you can literally plug in and forget! (There's a small compartment where you can store the mini mighty reciever while on the move. Pop up the battery cover of your mouse and it's right there!) Other reviewers made comments about durability issues in relation to this particular feature of this product. I personally find those comments to be completely untrue. I'd argue with two points: a) This set is deliberately designed to be compact & portable, b) electronic manufacturers don't usually advertise their product as being bullet proof and abuse-resistant, this set is not an exception in this regard!!
*Back to the goodies. The laser mouse is super accurate & works like charm on any surface I decided to test it against!
*I also like the click sound: loud & clear! The 3-position adjustable riser/stand meets my need. You get 20, 30 & 40 degrees of adjustment. The 360 pivoting base comes in very handy when sharing with others what's on your laptop screen.
*As for the keyboard, it's a standard 101 keys along with a numerical pad. Very tactile & responsive. Some may choose to mis-describe it as 'cramped' but I'd say Compact is the right word for it. And it is, matter of fact a selling point for Logitech!
*Almost everyone agrees though to the great battery life on this product. I've had for three months now and it seems it has a long way before it spells out it last drop of energy juice.
Things I didn't like: Haven't figured out any yet! I sure to let you know if anything comes up somewhere down the line!
PS: The Unifying technology sounds promising but didn't come into play within my everyday use and that's why I didn't refer to it in my review.
