Customer Review: Linksys LIES!! - Not backwards compatible

I purchased this adapter believing that it was backwards compatible to wireless G as the box said. After several days of messing with the stupid thing, I contact customer service who told me that it was not backwards compatible. The box is wrong. I then purchased the WUSB54GSC, which said that it was VISTA compatible. After several hours of messing around with that stupid thing trying to get the drivers off the website as instructed, I contact customer service who told me that the vista drivers did not exist for that product. I HATE Linksys. Don't believe their packaging. They will put whatever they think will sell the product, even if its not true. Got this product and it worked great for a week with the Linksys software. Then, one morning after booting my computer, the software would no longer connect to the network. Trying to get help on their forums just had someone telling me that the software wasn't compatible with XP Service Pack 3 (except it worked fine with SP3 only a day prior). Calling their help line ran me around in circles with Linksys eventually saying that they couldn't help me. I'm running it now through the XP software and getting maybe 2-3 out of five bars and pretty lousy performance for games and other higher bandwith stuff. I'm staying far away from Linksys products from now on -- this one was a HUGE disappointment.Customer Review: Awesome

i have been using this product with my 3yr+ desktop for about a month and i have been impressed all the way. installation was quick and painless. it connects to my WRT160N and 270Mbps at about 15m none line-of-sight and it even sees over 5 other wireless networks around me, most of which are wireless G and over 30m away. i can only use the 2.4Ghz frequency cause that's all my WRT160N can do and i just hate that my installed easylink advisor software did not allow the bundled WUSB600N software to install, it only just allowed the usb driver. all the same, this adapter works great and i'm suprised some customers are having problem with it, they really shouldn't be having any problemsCustomer Review: N-Band simplicity

Its wonderful to buy a device that you plug it in and works straight away. Installation took about 10 minutes and auto found the local server and ask for a key. Typed in the key and was connected. Have not experienced any drop-outs or connection issues of any kind. The router for this application is also several rooms away and usually behind closed door(s). I did have a little issue with finding a good place to put the desk module and its a bit top heavy for the cable but a little double sticky tape worked fine. Overall it worked straight out of the box first time and continues to be issue free for almost a month now. The Cisco company claims on their website and the product box that their Linksys 600N network adapter is compatable with windows 2000. I tried to install the device and the wizard wouldn't allow me to proceed. I called Linksys product support and was told that the 600N will not work on windows 2000. I was out the shipping and handling for a product that claimed to be compatible with my computer. When I called customer service to try to get my return postage back the representative wouldn't take responsibility for the shipping and when I demanded to speak with a supervisor they stonewalled me until I hung up. BEWARE OF LINKSYS FALSE CLAIMS OF PRODUCT COMPATIBLY.
