Customer Review: A very difficult company to deal with
Summary: 1 Stars

This is a bad company. I purchased a wireless router from them and, truth be told, it never really worked right. The speed was ok, but it was impossible to set up without tech support and every so often it would simply stop working. When that happened I would be forced to call tech support and spend 30-60 minutes on the phone fighting with them about resetting the router. I recently purchased a new computer and decided to save a little money by moving this router to it. When I called tech support I was told that the router was out of its warranty period and they could not help me... unless I would pay them to. That's right, I would have to pay for the assistance on their product - a working product because it was not under warranty.

So be warned that you are only buying the option to use Linksys' products for a limited time - that is if you have any problems whatsoever that require tech support. I am now trying a Trendnet. Let's see if they are any better.

Customer Review: Works great out of the box!
Summary: 4 Stars

This draft N router works great paired with the Linksys WMP300N draft Wireless-N PCI adapters. I have three computers in my home all using WMP300N cards along with the WRT300N router. I also have a Vonage phone adapter hooked into my router (via Ethernet cable). No complaints at all.

Basically, plug it in and set up your security. If you have any difficulty communicating to the router initially, just plug in an ethernet cord so you can change whatever settings you might need to change. If you start your wireless connection without security, though, and then connect to the router wirelessly, you should have no problems and no need for the ethernet cord.

Blazing speed, it can easily handle the 4 Megabits/second download rate from my cable internet without any glitches or slowing down.

I've also had no problem with people using the Vonage phone while others are surfing the net, downloading, etc. Great draft-N performance for the price!

Customer Review: Nice Router/Super Fast
Summary: 4 Stars

I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling buying this product because of the different reviews. Here is what I encountered.

Not much came in the box. Just some quick setup documentation.

The wired side was easy, which was expected. I setup the router to work with my friend's cable modem. So no problems here.

I did have problems setting up the wireless. The recommended card (WPC300N) would not see the network. I configured WPA-PSK and AES encryption. I performed multiple reboots, out of nowhere it displayed the signal strenght of the wireless router. I setup a local profile within the Linksys software and everything was fine from that point. Since I didn't have a lot of time I didn't mess with anything else. I will see what my friends have to say sometime this week. They are end users, so let's see how many calls I receive. So far several days have past.

I spent about an hour or so on this.

I hope this review helps!

Customer Review: Best router yet
Summary: 5 Stars

Don't worry about the other reviewers saying it doesn't work out of the box, et cetera. If you don't know how to use the router web utility you shouldn't have gotten one. After you set up the router it should work instantly if your adapters are also wireless-n. If not, then you need to make a few changes of settings in the web utility (192.168.1.1 is the same for all I believe). After you log into it, everything is pretty much self-explanatory.

But the router itself is really fast. I can now receive signal in places in my house where my previous dlink router could not, and it boosted my old wireless-g adapters on my family's pc to a noticeable faster internet speed. My adapter upstairs..on this computer...reads 300mbps with a 72% strong signal...

Point is, with some simple adjustments in the settings for wireless-g and b adapters to work with the router, it'll be the best router you have ever bought. It was totally in my opinion worth the $120...

Customer Review: Not ready for Prime Time
Summary: 1 Stars

My very old Linksys WRT54G went belly-up after many years of service, so I picked this router up last week looking forward to the nice range/speed increase.

Instead, I enjoyed several days of headaches and hours spent on the phone with tech support.

I did get the wired portion of the router to work fairly quickly, the wireless, well, it never worked well at all.

My laptop got a fairly good connection for browsing, but I would regularly get dropped or disconnected from online games.

The Xbox360, I never got to work (I could sign on to live, but disconnect within a minute)... I also spent an hour with Xbox live support, they gave me a few settings to try, but also said the router was unsupported. Doh!

So... I returned the WRT300N and bought, yup, another WRT54G. I have everything (laptop/printer/Xbox360) running fine wirelessly. Should have read the reviews here first.

Avoid this router!
