Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cisco-Linksys PSUS4 PrintServer for USB with 4 Port SwitchCustomer Review: Don't buy the PSUS4 Summary: 1 Stars
I've a PSUS4 for over two years now. I'm awaiting the return of a forth replacement unit from Linksys. They stream my LAN and kill connections. Linksys tried to claim the warranty was one year even though the .PDF on their web site states three years. When I cross shipped the last return, they charged my credit card early and then took forever to refund the money. Now, they claim the unit is on back order for over six weeks already. This is the last Linksys component in my LAN. I've replaced every other device with other brands. Linksys stinks!
Customer Review: PSUS4 w/ Samsung 4100 Summary: 4 Stars
I recently solved a problem I had with the PSUS4 & a samsung 4100 printer - I had simply to turn off the "enable bidirectional support" button (under the ports tab). Prior to deselecting this button I often had to reset the printer and/or the server and it was really pretty useless. I print from two different computer locations. Now it works like a dream w/ both computers - including one that uses a wireless access point. Of course it won't support scanning. I find these user reviews very helpful and hope this might be helpful to someone.
Customer Review: You can check out compatability before purchasing this item. Summary: 3 Stars
Linksys has a live support system called linkchat. After reading the reviews about the PSUS4 printserver I went to the linkchat system, and asked if this item was compatable with my HP G85 multifunction printer, in ten seconds I had my answer which was no. I also received two model numbers that are compatable with my printer. This will save you a lot of time and the frustration of returning a printserver. Go to the Linksys website, click on support, and then click on linkchat. And you will know in advance about your compatability issues.
Customer Review: Works well and great pricing Summary: 5 Stars
I had previously bought a Lynksys Wireless-G Printserver before buying this unit.
I am a regular computer user and typically most software downloads would post no problem. However, I couldn't install the Wireless-G. The IT guy at work called up tech support at Lynksys and was told that the software for Wireless-G is buggy.
Not for this one. This is a breeze in setting up.
Maybe this one is not as convenient as the wireless version but it serves me well and I am happy with it.
Customer Review: Best decision I made today Summary: 5 Stars
After spending four hours last night and another three this morning trying to blow life into an aging HP JetDirect print server, I made the decision to upgrade to a Linksys. Having read the reviews on this page, I was worried that I would be spending the rest of the day praying to NetBeui, the old god of networks, to see me through the Linksys server installation. My trepidation was misplaced, the Linksys server was easy to install, works perfectly, and allows me to eliminate my old hub which speeds up my network.
