Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cisco-Linksys PSUS4 PrintServer for USB with 4 Port SwitchCustomer Review: Simple setup and works just fine Summary: 5 Stars
On our home/office wired and wireless network I have network storage, 4 switches, a WiFi router and 7 computers. The computers are four desktops and three laptops running a mix of Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows XP Pro and XP Media Center. While I have other printers directly connected to two machines, for network printing I have an older HP 930C on this Linksys PSUS4 Print Server. Every computer on the network, wired or wireless, can easily print to the 930C and only the Windows 98 machine took more than a moment to set up with the driver. For that machine I had to locate the driver on disk.
I've had this print server now for almost a year and it has worked great.

First things first. Verify with Linksys that your printer is compatible with this device. They are not known to be upfront about this but press the point. I found out after many hours of trouble shooting that my HP "All In One" was not. Having said that, I am very satisfied with this device now that I have it working with an HP 960c. Not only is it a print server but it gives you an additional 3 ports to connect to your network. Did I mention it's fast? It's just like having a printer connected to your pc. Over all, I am very satisfied - I just wish Linksys would publish which printers are known to work well with it (and don't work at all) as Netgear does.
Customer Review: 2 Problems: (1) Broke after a month & (2) too hard to use with Mac Summary: 1 Stars
No matter what the packaging says, the PSUS4 is designed for PCs. I never could get the print server to work in a LAN with Macs. My Internet search suggests that no one else can either.
So I used it as a 4-port router. That worked okay for a month then the device failed completely. Linksys tech support suggested returning it to the company for a refund. I requested a merchandize return number a week ago. I am still waiting.
Unfortunately, I bought the device from Staples. It does not take returns on "technology products" after 14 days. I learned my lesson: buy from Amazon. They have a 30-day return policy.

Customer Review: Piece of Junk Summary: 1 Stars
I have just gone through the same drama that other reviewers have written about. I called "support" after failing to get this hunk of junk working with my Lexmark X85 printer. I was floored when he told me that my printer was incompatible with this print server. He asked if I would like him to send me alist of compatible printers. I agreed thinking I would get a link to a long list of printers that DID work with it. Instead this dude starts hand typing printer makes and models in. What a joke! No list anywhere that a consumer can look at, and nothing on the box that indicates you might have problems. I will never by another Linksys product!
Customer Review: Good Luck Getting This to Work Summary: 1 Stars
I have spent hours trying to get this thing to work. The printer is a basic HP LaserJet 1300, nothing fancy and NOT an all-in-one/multifunction. Yet it's one thing after another with the installation and configuration and still, it doesn't work.
I buy LinkSys gear almost exclusively and have installed and used a ton of it - but this device is WAY OFF their usual standard of usability. I think they should recall this device and replace it with something that actually works.
The reviews of the D-Link are a lot better. I actually NEVER use D-Link but I may have to start because at this point I am giving up on the LinkSys.
