Customer Review: Sound is muddy
Summary: 3 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
These are earbuds which apparently have been reduced in price from $50 to $10, which makes me wonder why. Anyway, I tested them on my iPad in comparison with the earbuds Apple includes for free, and a pair of Sennheisers twist-to-lock MX65's ($30). The Sennheisers required cranking up the volume, but gave the clearest sound, especially on the highs. The Apple's were louder and pretty decent, not bad. These Lift Audio earbuds were the worst of the three. Gave lots of bass and loudness but a muddy sound overall compared to the others, and lack of detail. For low cost earbuds, I would use the free ones from Apple.

The most entertaining aspect is the advertising hype put out by the company. By calling them "noise isolating" they are trying to trick you into thinking they are noise CANCELLING, which they are not. They just have a rubber ring to seal your ear. And then get this one: "Lift Audio incorporates precise craftsmanship with the most organic and progressive sound technology on the market. Premium materials, extensive research, and leading edge innovation are utilized in the engineering process of every single component to guarantee the excellence that is consistent with every product. Lift Audio relentlessly balances fundamental beliefs on audio purity with the integration of technologically advanced features..." Organic? Fundamental beliefs? Relentless? ... Overpriced I would say. And muddy sounding.

Customer Review: Decent entry level ear buds

Lift Audio Groove Noise-Isolating In-Ear Headphone [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]

If you are looking for a nice set of ear buds at a very reasonable price, these are good. At about $25 or so, they fall into the upper end of entry level ear buds. You can easily get some buds under $10 and you basically get what you pay for. These have some nice features right off the bat. They have three sets of ear gels/silicones (S-M-L), a nice zippered carry case and a bit of style. They also sound pretty good for this price range. I did get some noise when the wires rubbed my clothing, but that's happened to me with more expensive buds. Not an excuse, just a comparison. It is a strike. A bonus feature is the ability to order them using Amazon's Frustration Free Packaging. If you've ever cut yourself opening plastic clamshell packaging, this is worth the price of admission. It's an "E" Ticket! It arrives in a cardboard box, cut through the paper seal and inside you find your ear buds in a plastic bag that is not hermetically sealed. It is a joy to be able to take them out for the packaging, not bleeding!

The sound quality is decent. It's good for general non-critical listening. Again, I have to say, for the price, they are fine. I found them comfortable with the middle size gel. It was appreciated that they came in three sizes. If your budget is restricted, these will get the job done.

Customer Review: Muddy, dull, and cheap
Summary: 1 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Let's start with the good point: the Lift Audio Groove Noise-Isolating in-ear headphones do a good job of blocking out noise. The bad? They do a good job of turning music into muddy sounding noise.

I used an iPhone 4 for this review, comparing these to the stock headphones that ships with all iPhones and iPods. I don't particularly like the stock Apple headphones, but they are passable. The Lift Audio, however, sound terrible. There is no bass that is not muddy, the mids are garbled, and the highs are shrilly. I can, in all honesty, say that the audio quality is some of the worst I have heard in years.

The other aspect is the cord itself. They keep the same shape they were in while folded. Cheap, and not just in the inexpensive way.

Comfort is not very. The metal feels heavy in your ear, unlike many other in-ear headphones that you can barely tell are there in your ear.

The amazon frustration free packaging was great! Super simple to open and start using the product. Nice job, amazon!

Don't buy these headphones. Seriously. My youngest daughter needed another pair of headphones after ruining hers, and we picked up a cheap pair of $5.00 headphones at a local store. Those sounded three times better than these did.

Yes, they are cheap and inexpensive. They are not worth it. I would not use these if they were free.

Avoid.

Customer Review: Awesome so far

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I realized my obsession with cheap earbuds had gone overboard when I packed five different sets for a weekend trip...

This is to say, I have tried a LOT of different earbuds and headphones. So far the Lift Audio are the best sounding (cheap) earbuds I've tried by a large margin. They're also pretty comfortable, though they're heavy and stick out a bit. Not so great for napping. The sound is incredibly clean and pleasant. Like all in-ear buds, you get noise through the cord if it bumps into anything. Not recommended for running. The fit is going to vary from person to person as well. These worked fine for me. I guess I have average ears?

I see there were some issue with quality, earlier. I delayed my review for a couple weeks to make sure these kept working, but so far so good, with no special handling. I do use (and quite like) the little pouch that the earbuds come with, but other than the few times I stop to wind them up and tuck them away carefully, they get banged around and dropped and tangled and hastily stuffed in the side of my purse like usual.

One small detail: there's no indication of right vs left sides. This makes me a bit crazy... not that I can actually tell the difference when I get them in reversed. But still!

Overall, I'm very very pleased with these, and even if they did break in a couple months, I'd buy a replacement set.

Customer Review: Very nice bass, good price, isolate noice but average treble/tweeter
Summary: 4 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Lift Audio Groove Noise-Isolating In-Ear Headphone delivers very nice bass quality as they advertised/intended to do, and also provide good noise isolating. Having said that they fell short in the treble/tweeter area (for higher frequency), unless I'm getting a bad copy. The standard Apple Ipod headphone has better/crisper treble than Lift Audio Groove but the Lift Audio Groove bass is much more superior. I would recommend this headphone if you are looking for a spare headphone or if you are primarily listening to music with not much treble requirement (rock/metal/techno etc), but if you listen to music which value treble quality (like jazz, big band, blues, instrumental, easy listening, pop, classical music), this headphone is probably not for you (i.e. I wouldn't recommend). Before buying this headphone, you should also consider the skullcandy and the JVC gummy headphones.

Pros:
1. Very nice bass quality (which is what they are going after and achieved nicely)
2. Isolate noise (not noise canceling however)
3. In ear design
4. Very good price
5. Comfortable to wear (comes with the 3 size soft silicone fittings)

Cons:
1. Average treble/tweeter sound quality (for higher frequency)
2. Except the metal portion, the construction feels a bit flimsy
3. No left and right distinction/marking
