Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Crucial 4Gb Lexar Media Professional Udma 300X Compactflash Cf4Gb-300-380Customer Review: Stick with SanDisk !!! Summary: 1 Stars
I own three Lexar cards... It is very likely I will never own four. All the rest of my cards are SanDisk Extreme III & Extreme IV cards. The first Lexar I purchased failed during a destination wedding... luckily I knew enough to stop using it immediately and was able to save the pictures. The next two Lexar cards ( figured I would give them one more shot ) were these 4GB UDMA cards... one failed on the very first time out. The other card 'seems to be ok', but I use it sparingly and with great attention. I called Lexar about the first card failing within minutes of taking it out of the package. I have never been given such a run around in my life! Basically I'm stuck with a card I dare not use on a job and the other that I am painfully mistrustful of...
Stick with the SanDisk cards. I have a dozen of the SanDisk Extreme series of cards and not one has ever failed -and I use them constantly being a professional.
Maybe Lexar should put the money they spend on packaging back into quality control instead...
just my humble experience....
Description of Crucial 4Gb Lexar Media Professional Udma 300X Compactflash Cf4Gb-300-380A CompactFlash Type I memory card is a solid-state disk card with a 50-pin connector. The pins provide a connection between the memory and the CompactFlash drive in your electronic device. CompactFlash cards are used more like a hard drive than RAM. They are designed with flash technology, a non-volatile storage solution that does not lose its information when power is removed from the card. The cards contain no moving parts and are extremely rugged, providing much greater data protection than conventional magnetic disk drives. CompactFlash cards are commonly used in portable applications such as digital cameras, digital music players, and personal digital assistants (PDAs).
