Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Lap Gear Jumbo Lap Desk BlackCustomer Review: over all good lapdesk, but soft top Summary: 3 Stars
when i saw this lapdesk online, i thought it would be a great product because of the large desk, but that was not the problem. the desk is large enough and the bottom pillow is very comfortable, but the actual desk itself is a little soft for me. the top is made of sturdy plastic, but if i press a little harder on the sides of the top, it can bend. i really do like the desk, but i would've preferred a harder top that didnt bend.
Customer Review: Slippery Summary: 2 Stars
I just bought this today and tested it out. I own a Macbook and I thought the round rubber things on the bottom of it would be enough to stop the laptop from sliding around on the tabletop. No such luck. I have to hold my wrists down on the laptop to keep it steady otherwise it just slides all over the place. I think I'd like this product better if it had rubber grids for securing laptops.
Customer Review: Good product for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I bought 2 of these lapdesks as Christmas gifts for teachers who bring work home. the clipboard feature struck me as very useful for keeping papers in place. It can also be used for writing, reading, and using a laptop. The teachers were quite pleased with this gift. It is durable and practical, and while not as "pretty" as some types made of wood, it is a good product for the price.
Customer Review: Too flimsy for me Summary: 1 Stars
Since I'm putting a laptop on the desk, I need a firm, non-pliable surface. Part of the cooling design for my (and most) laptops is to install little foot-nubs on the bottom, allowing air to circulate under the laptop. The plastic surface of this desk bends enough to create lots of heat-retaining contact with the laptop. Next time, I'll get wood, metal or thick pressboard.
Customer Review: Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
I was disappointed with this product. Initially it looked ideal to use with my laptop, however the plastic is too brittle. First it cracked at the handle and then it cracked right across the work surface. Instead, I removed the cushion and stuck it onto a piece of wood about the same dimension and now have a much better and durable lapdesk.
