This thing is just what it looks like. It's convenient to leave it on my key chain and always have it when I need it, without having to remember to bring it. I don't know how durable it is - I've only had it a month or two. Still works fine.
It was definitely overpriced though. Maybe if it was a 32 or 16 gig it would have been worth nearly $30, but not an 8. If you can find a smaller one that has a key chain loop or hole just go with that. It's not really worth it to me that it's shaped like a key.

The LaCie iamakey is the best usb flash drive design that i have ever seen. The reason I purchased this product was that the previous three flash drives I put on my key chain all broke. When I saw the iamakey was made out of metal and in the shape of a key, I knew that this flash drive would stay with me on my key chain. Although the performance is only average for flash drives in terms of speed, the upside is that you will always have the iamakey available (perfect for college students like me).Customer Review: Solid drive, but scratches easily

I lost the plastic cap for this within 30 minutes, and the drive gets really scratched on a keychain. Call me picky, but that's why I knocked off a star.
The cap is really really loose, I just took this out of my pocket and it was gone.
Other than that, the all metal enclosure seems very solid, although it scratches easily. Speed seems acceptable, but I haven't done any tests. I highly recommend this flash drive to anyone who plans on carrying a drive on their keychain.

I've been on a quest for years for a good-sized flash drive that I can keep on my keychain to carry personal files and tools where they'll always be handy - and this one is it!
Previous keys I've used were either too bulky or would break, leading them to drop off my keychain, but not this one. You don't even notice it's there, because it's just like a key, and it's rugged. I've had it with me everywhere for a good two months now and it's going strong. Highly recommended.

This looks cool. I'll admit, that's the only reason I bought it. It's the size of a house key, and goes unnoticed on my keychain. The build quality is not quite what I was expecting. What you have here is a very thin stamped metal sheeting covering the internals--in other words, not very durable, but looks the part. There is also a very flimsy cover that goes over the tip of the key. I'm not sure if it will hold up over time, but it has stayed in place the two days I have owned it.
