The LaCie 250GB Rugged Hard Disk with FireWire is stylish, superquick, and ultraquiet. I don't even notice when it is operating as opposed to my old Iomega that flashed a blue light and whirled in operation. The FireWire option is cool and makes downloading zip, zip, zip. I bought this about 2 months ago, and so far, so good. It is compact, portable and easy to use the first time: plug it in and copy files. If you want a portable hard drive that is truly USB powered and durable, get this! This is the first USB powered HDD that I have owned that has lasted over a year and I have had this LaCie running strong for about 3 years now, and most of it's life has been spent in my back pack.Customer Review: Simply "the best".

I am user of mac G4 Powerbook, before I tried several HD's such as WD's. It was not even posibble to connect my WD because of G4's low usb power. Lacie 250 GB with firewire is exelent product for any kind of computer.
Also you can divide 30 GB for Pc use. Perfect.

The item is great. I purchased it along with a case. I paid for two day shipping and then discovered that only the case was shipped in two days the hard drive took over a week to receive. I would have never paid for two day shipping if I knew only the case was shipping.
