LaCie 250 GB Rugged Hard Disk with FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB2.0
This product is great. I've been using it for a month now with both the 800 and 400 FireWire connections. It's fast, lightweight, and stylish. It's also very convenient to drag along with me in my backpack.
Customer Review: LaCie 250 GB Ruged Hard Drive w/ FW 800/400 and USB2.0 Summary: 5 Stars
I am very impressed so far. My MacBook Pro with Time Machine works seamlessly with the LaCie. I love the portability, just take it with me when I travel and appreciate the speed with FW 800.
Just one problem which may be with my Mac when I have it on auto save, it will save once and then experiences a problem with the next save. Works fine when I save manually.
Customer Review: great little drive Summary: 5 Stars
This the perfect portable drive for my MacBook Pro. Easy set-up, bus powered, 3 connections including FW 800. What more could you want? I bought 2. One as a bootable back-up for my laptop, the other as extra storage/back-up for my photos. I'm a pro photographer and need back-up, redundant storage for my photos on the road. I'm doing video too, and it works for that too.
Customer Review: Good Portable Disk Summary: 4 Stars
Just what I can say that its very good disk, it have three different data ports, and is why I bough it but its firewire 400 connector its not the same that we found in the most of laptops.
However its a fast, quiet and reliable disk. Other things to say it become hot very fast, maybe because the aluminum case its exposed.
Customer Review: Lacie 250gb external hd Summary: 4 Stars
A good external drive, but it did require use of the provided usb power cable in addition to the data usb cable to work with my laptops. If you use it with a laptop I would plug each cable in before I tried to use the drive. I didn't and had to reformat the drive with the Windows utilities to get it to work!!
