Customer Review: perfect little guy
Summary: 5 Stars

this is a fantastic tool. it is plug and play and the on/off switch is functioned off when you slide the usb into the groves of the underside and the switch is turned back on when you unsheathe the usb so you can plug it into your laptop or desktop. i wouldnt recommend using this on a desktop as it takes a double-a battery--unless you really need a cordless and use rechargeable batteries and a recharger.. the battery has been working for three weeks now with nominal use of the mouse; i dont use the mouse often as i spend more time home then abroad but the mouse certainly doesnt eat up battery life.

i bought it to use on the occasion and i love it. it has an ergonomic feel with a fly wheel and it's light weight and overall just plain perfect for a cordless mouse. i can even use it ten feet away when i want to [vga] my laptop to my tv and utilize a virtual keyboard so i can surf and email and facebook from my lcd tv between commercials on football sunday.

a very solid buy, recommended.

Customer Review: Everything I Need and More
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had this mouse for over a year and a half, dropped it dozens of times onto concrete, and have generally been amazed at its performance. For starters, it absolutely sips power. I think I've changed the battery only twice since getting it. Ironically, the somehow calming red pulse that indicates a low battery began to blink as I began this review. However, if past experience is any guide, I will get a couple more weeks of heavy use out of it before I have to switch out the battery.

The design is pleasing aesthetically and exceedingly functional. My only complaint is that the USB thingy that plugs into the computer is not flush with the rest of the bottom of the mouse when the mouse is not plugged in.

The scroll wheel is sturdy, reliable and satisfying, and the mouse's speed is just right.

My V220 is getting a little worn, but I fully expect it to outlast my pitiful Acer laptop, probably by years. Overall, like many Logitech products, this is a little hardworking gem.

Customer Review: Inexpensive engineering marvel
Summary: 5 Stars

I feel almost silly writing a review for a $10 mouse, but this Logitech mouse had a couple of nifty innovations that made it necessary. It's a wireless mouse. Installs easily using Windows native drivers. What made it interesting was the battery location. I spent a minute looking for the battery door. Couldn't find it. I pressed the button to release the door, but nothing happened. Then, I finally read the instructions (a first). When you press the release, the top of the mouse pops open as the battery compartment. Lost battery covers won't happen with this mouse. The next feature that impressed me was a simple slot on the bottom of the mouse for the USB transmitter/receiver. It just slides into the slot for storage when not in use, so it won't go wandering in your laptop case...or somewhere else. All in all, a very cool little rodent.Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks (Dark Silver)

Customer Review: Laptop owners stay away from this one.
Summary: 1 Stars

I usually don't write negative reviews, but the frustration from this mouse has added some extra motivation for me.

In the beginning everything was great, it worked wonderfully and seemed to serve its purpose very well. After a few months I starrted noticing some tracking problems, but quickly put it aside as a failing battery. After replacing the battery I still had problems, until one day it just stopped working.

Through some deduction I realized that problem is not with the mouse, but with the large clunky usb drive. The size, much larger than newer models, is such that it will get bumped occasionally, many times without notice.

The usb drive is so cheaply made ( as evidence I took it apart only to find a thin copper plate secured by a couple pieces of scotch tape tape) that even the occasional nudge will destroy this excessively fragile device. This is a problem. For desktop users, it may never be an issue, but for laptop owners there are better options.

Customer Review: Good mouse for notebooks
Summary: 4 Stars

I've tried several brands of cordless mice, now won't even think about any brand but Logitech. I was looking for a new mouse for my laptop, and based on reviews I'd seen here coupled with the good price I chose this one.
It was a good decision - my only complaint is that this mouse does not have a "back" button - something I've really come to like a lot.
I like the small factor - fits my hand fine, is very easy to take with me and I like the fact that the transmitter fits right inside the mouse for travelling. It uses only one AA battery, has a switch to turn the mouse off to preserve battery life (I've never remembered to turn it off, and the battery is still fine after almost two months). It took me a few minutes to figure out how to put the battery in - there's a small button on the bottom of the mouse, and when it's pushed in the top part of the mouse pops up revealing the battery compartment.
The lack of a back button is the only thing that kept this one from getting 5 stars.
