Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks (Dark Silver)Customer Review: So far, so good Summary: 4 Stars
Picked this cordless mouse up for my Acer laptop about 2 months ago. It functions well so far. The battery certainly did not last me 6 months -- maybe 5 or 6 weeks. I bought a RTS space game, too, and have played it obsessively for hours on end, so it's not surprising that the batter did not last long, I guess. Still, not exactly what was promised. Plus, when the battery was dying, the cursor was very jerky and scrolling difficult. There's not any particular indication that I saw that said the battery needs changing, which would be nice. I had a cordless Logitech mouse before that did do that, I think. But this one only takes one AA battery instead of two, so I'm not gonna complain. It feels nice and functions well, overall. The separate USB receiver is not overly wide, so it does allow another device to be attached to a USB port next to it.
Customer Review: it is dead after 3.5 month Summary: 1 Stars
I was very happy when I got this mouse, and everything was fine--I mean it responded quick, easy to install, easy to use, and everything was perfect. Yet, after 3.5 months, it broke. I used it for a regular basis--typing my papers and browsing websites, you know, just the regular stuff. I am not even an online game player. So after it broke, following the instruction, I have reset many many times, changed a new battery, and even used another laptop to try it out, but NO, the mouse is not responding (the light is not even on after the new battery) no matter how hard I have tried. I also logged on its official website and looked for the tips to fix the problem. I have tried the auto-detect, but the mouse is not responding at all!!! The is the shortest life span I have ever seen for a wireless mouse. I am very disappointed about the product.
Customer Review: great little mouse Summary: 5 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I love this little notebook mouse. The scroll can be set fast, it's very responsive, lightweight, and was literally plug and play with my Mac. No drivers to download or other hardware incompatibilities. Since it plugs into a USB port, it has a strong signal. Don't know if this is bluetooth or not, but works far better than any bluetooth notebook mouse I've gotten in the past (like Kingston) and I have not had any lag or dropout. Real nice. I also love that it uses 1 AA battery that can last up to 6 months, so it's easy to replace on the fly and no extra cords or cradles are needed to charge it.
Customer Review: Logitech earned my brand loyalty with this mouse Summary: 5 Stars
I don't usually feel any sort of brand loyalty, but here's a little story: I had a v220 mouse that had been used daily, dropped, abused, etc. It was well over 2 years old, and started to act a bit wonky (buttons getting weird). I emailed Logitech asking for disassembly and cleaning instructions. They wrote back asking for the serial number. I replied, and they kindly insisted that I send the unit back for a free replacement. I said that it was past the warranty, and the person with whom I'd been corresponding said it didn't matter.
So, after more than two years, I got a brand new mouse and, get this: Logitech paid for shipping both ways! Needless to say, I since have bought more from this manufacturer, including a 2.1 speaker system, wireless desktop, and another v220. That's the way you earn my brand loyalty!
Customer Review: Failed after 9 month, great when it works Summary: 2 Stars
Pros: Small, comfortable and accurate
Cons: I have two major issues with this mouse:
1. The left click button becomes unresponsive after 9 mon, now I have to click 4-5 times to get it work once, which made me doubt about its built quality. This is not a receiver issue, as tested, it does not work any better even if the receiver is close to the mouse with line of sight. The left button simply failed after 9 mon's normal use, the right button works just fine under the same condition.
2. Battery life not as good as described in some other reviews.
The curve makes this mouse comfortable to hold, but not carry around, and the receiver is too large to leave on the laptop.
It's a good mouse for the bucks, but it does not last very long possibly due to questionable built quality.
