Only buy this if you want to read SD cards. It can't handle CF cards AT ALL! I'm a professional photographer, and I purchased a couple of cameras last year that use the SD cards. I still have my CF card cameras as well as about a dozen CF card readers, but no SD readers. So I thought a combination SD/CF reader would be perfect, especially considering all of the traveling I do. HA! This stupid piece of plastic junk can get about 1 minute into reading a CF card before it freaks out and disconnects from the computer. What a perfect way to corrupt my files. It seems to be able to handle those tiny little SD cards, but put a CF card nearby and it just wigs out. I should have known better as Lexar has quite the reputation for over-priced crap among all of the pro photographers I know, but that's for the junky memory cards that corrupt at the most inopportune times. But that's another story.
I'm just irritated I paid so much for the thing when I could have gotten a Sandisk reader for much less and I have NEVER had an issue with Sandisk (quick plug, Sandisk cards & readers are fanastic. I have only had an issue with 2 cards over the last ten years with 30+ CF cards, 12+ SD cards and about 3 million frames shot. One of those issues was computer related-crash while I was downloading and now I can't delete the data off the card, but I had no problem downloading it, so no loss of images there. The other was an issue from the beginning of one file corrupting on an entire 8G card. I caught it on my test shoots and replaced it with a perfect card. And their readers have never let me down. They just download cards all day long. LOVE)
So long story short, don't buy this thing unless you want to only download SD cards. And really, just go buy Sandisk.
