So far, ofter one month, the Kodak KLIC-8000 Equivalent Li-ion Battery appears to work as well at the Kodak label battery. It seems to have the power necessary to provide all the camera functions and maintained a charge for a reasonable time. I do not know how many recharges it will take or how long it will hold a charge without being used. Time will tell.
However, at less than half the cost of the manufacturers product, it is certainly worth taking a chance.

Don't confuse this battery (DLK-8000 Equivalent) with the DLK-8000 made by Lenmar (which is KLIC-8000 Equivalent). It seems that all the positive reviews in this thread came from folks who bought the actual DLK-8000 battery, which is slightly more expensive than the DLK-8000 equivalent (listed product). So before you buy, make sure you differentiate between the two... That might have something to do with why some pple have problems with the battery being too tight etc...Customer Review: Good value for money

I ordered battery and charger for my Kodak Z712 IS camera and both items came well ahead of time (Almost 1 week early) which was great. I have been using the battery and charger since and it's going great. It charges preety fast( couple of hours) and lasts long. It went on for more then 3 weeks with about 200 photos without charging. Even after three weeks the bettery indicator was still full so I guess it would have gone without charging some more. Excellent.Customer Review: Rechargeable Battery

It works, it recharges, it makes the camera work......what else could you want? The Kodak battery I bought to go with it cost 3 times as much but does the same job. I should have just gotten the aftermarket charger (kodaks wont charge other companies batteries, the jerks) and not even considered the Kodak battery. They make a good camera but sure are a bit "Kikey" when it comes to making you use their charger ONLY for their battery.Customer Review: I hate Amazon

The battery That Amazons site lead me to did not fit the Camera Amazon sold me. When I tried to call email customer service. The email would not take my order number, and would not give me a way to get through. I call their 800 number, waited a long time and hung up. Be sure not to trust Amazon to offer assesories that fit what you are buying. I am still trying to find the right battery. I should have bought locally.
