Power port was easy to install in the car. It would have been helpful if screws were included instead of have to hunt around for ones to fit the rather small holes in the mounting base. It would also be helpful if a small drawing was enclosed to show how the base detached (It slides off, but has a lock so it seems like it won't slide unless you push hard enough). Overall the Power Port functioned as expected. Its nice to have 4 outlets to plug in all the 12 volt items that are available for vehicles these days (XM radio, radar detector, GPS, seat messager,portable ice chest, etc..)Customer Review: Does what it says

A simple 4-port DC power splitter. This unit is larger than you think it is. It comes with a quick-release mounting plate + adhesive, although it can be screwed into place (which I recommend).
A nice touch is the cigarette lighter port.
I use this to power an AC inverter, Zune MP3 player, Magellan GPS, and phone charger simultaneously on road trips. No problems at all in operation.
It's a bit plasticky and cheap feeling (which is why I give it 4 stars), but otherwise it has been 100% reliable for me.

We purchased this device while on a trip. It worked at first. Later one of the four power take-offs failed. Then the connection to the car became flakey and you had to get it positioned just right. Finally, less than a year later and after only moderate use, the power plug has failed completely. Worse, the fit is so tight you have to hold the dash trim on the car when you try to pull the plug out for fear of ripping the dash right out of the car.
Design seems so bad that we just junked the device and have now purchased a replacement.

I thought this was a great item...at first. After 3 months of intermittent usage, the part that goes into the lighter melted. I checked with the manufacturer, who confirmed that item is still under warranty. Unfortunately, all I have to do is submit a check for $7.50 along with my receipt and pay the postage to mail the item to them and they will decide if they will repair or replace it!! The full cost on Amazon.com was less than $13.00 so I won't be returning it for warranty services! I am really disappointed!Customer Review: Love It

My iPod needed the outlet to charge and play through the radio. My GPS runs out of juice after a couple of hours. What to do? This works exactly as promised, and thanks to the other great reviews for this I was confident it would. I have used all four at once with no problems, but usually only need two to three at a time. Sturdy construction, mountable, and a wire long enough to avoid any issues like where to put it make this a great buy. Price was well worth it, and I highly recommend for all types of users!
