The only thing that would make this power port better would be if it had been installed in the car originally. The power cord is long enough to put the port anywhere to keep it handy, short enough not to have a long cord at your feet, and easily usable for laptops, cell phones, and other power adapters. This has made our travel so much more enjoyable since we're not switching devices in the power socket.Customer Review: Does the job

Purchased the unit to accomodate computer, iPod, and phone charges for the crew on a long distance sailboat race. It worked perfectly, including retaining the charger plugs with no tendency to eject them accidentally. A bargain at the price.Customer Review: Good product, good company

It works well and seems well built, no problems. Once, it stopped working, and a quick call to the company got me an explanation of how to change its internal fuse (it's inside the piece that plugs into the car's outlet... something it probably says in the manual, but who reads manuals for these things, much less keeps them around? Anyway, this design is much better than one without a fuse, which would probably just have shorted out and needed to be ditched.
