Customer Review: LENMAR 3-Port DC Power Outlet, NOT 4-Port

This is a BIG Power Outlet, so only think about buying it if you have a LOT of space, and it needs to be permanently mounted. I wouldn't want something this BIG to be loose on my center console. It's furnished with a screw-down mounting system, but I mounted mine down low on the right side of the center console with Super-Glue. I didn't want to drill or put screw holes through my console. Also comes with a tape mounting system, but it's too heavy for the tape. One of the ports is fixed for a cigarette lighter, so you can't use it for a normal appliance power outlet, making it effectively a 3-port unit. I've been using it for 3 months with a GPS with a traffic monitor, an iPod kit, and a Radar detector with no issues at all: it handles the power necessary for all 3 just fine. It is HUGE though! Be prepared for its size, and weight, and you'll like its ability to handle power for 3 items with ease. 3 Stars for this one.Customer Review: Works fine. Surprisingly well made.

I didn't expect the build quality to be a high as it is. Nice attached plastic caps cover the outlets when not in use. Both a screw mount and adhesive pads are supplied, which is another nice touch.
I ordered the item primarily because I wanted a four outlet unit. It wasn't until later that I realized that I've used Lenmar products in the past and was satisifed with them. They produce a pretty full line of batteries, rechargers and power accessories.
As for this unit, all the sockets seem to be tight, which is a good thing. You don't have to jiggle the plugs you insert into the sockets of the unit.
There's really nothing negative to say about the unit. It gives you four sockets and is well made with suprising attention to detail. If you need to plug in a bunch of stuff while you drive, this is an excellent unit.

Customer Review: The ONLY solution for those who have many/high powered electronics

I have gone through 4 different cigarette adapter splitters, only to fin that all of them blew the fuses in my car after trying to put a 3rd electronic in. i bought two of these (i have to outlets) and it works great. In the 1st one I have my xm, gps, and a set of neon lights connected. the second has 1 set of neon lights, 1 set of led lights, and a dvd player hooked up. They work great.
Pros:
-great value
-only one ive found not to blow fuses constantly
-comes with mounting tape/ screws and plastic pad
Cons:
-Its really big and kind of awkward
-the safety caps are annoying (i just cut them off so its fine)
but the trade off is more than worth the convenience of this thing

I bought this product shortly before a road-trip and it worked mostly as advertised. The few problems I had with it I'm not sure are its fault so I'm not taking off any points for that. I wanted to run my laptop through an inverter as well as a radio transmitter for music, but it appears that if I have the inverter plugged in as well as the transmitter the transmitter will turn off. I'm not sure if this because the transmitter sucks, or the inverter is taking a lot of juice (i think it's a 140W inverter) or because the Lenmar is unable to accommodate that high of a load, but I couldn't get them to work together. I was able to run the inverter by itself, as well as the transmitter and a USB charger together.Customer Review: Worked perfectly!

I bought this to use as an extension cord/multiple outlet to use in my car. The cord extends about 4 feet, allowing the main unit to sit comfortably in the middle or back of the car. While a different (cheap) multi-plug outlet died early in the trip, this unit survived the full journey (many 12-hour driving days), powering one GPS, two cell phones, and a portable fridge! There were absolutely no problems with this unit. It didn't blow a fuse or even warm up at all. The unit isn't nearly as huge or heavy as others claimed - it is exactly the size and weight I'd expect for a four-outlet unit. Measures about 5.25" x 3" x 1.75" with a removable bracket on the base. A great product for the price!
