Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone HeadphonesCustomer Review: Dont get me wrong, these sound GREAT, but... Summary: 4 Stars
These are one of the greatest phones you can buy for under 20 dollars, but don't count on them as a permanent solution to your auditory woes... i've bought these phones twice [thats how much i love them] but theres 1 issue, the wiring in these phones is increadably cheap... the first time i bought these i figured it was a fluke, i got a defected pair right? wrong...
The problem is after about a few months one side of the phones goes completely mute [annoying] and it happened to me on the second pair too [within 2 weeks]i did some investigating and found that you can keep this from happening by taking off the foam ear protectors and putting a dab of super glue where the wire meets the speaker, after it drys replace the protectors and you should have a pair of headphones with a 40 dollar value.
They do come apart, but you have to actual show some effort or be careless to do so... And they snap back together without doing any damage to the phones. it does get tedious though...[just don't wrap them up and toss them in your backpack carelessly and you should be fine] In conclusion i would recommend these to anyone and i would be willing to buy these a third time...if my sennheiser px100's ever fail me.
Customer Review: great value in headphones Summary: 4 Stars
As far as sound quality goes, these are the best headphones I've ever heard for under $20. They easily compare to much more expensive sets in the open style. They don't have the bass of the styles that totally cover your ear, but that is just a shortcoming of this design and you have to weigh the advantages. These are extremely light and your ears don't get too hot if you wear them for a long period of time.
The ear clips are sometimes hard to put on, but it gets easier the longer you have them. If you don't have them on right, they tend to get a little uncomfortable. They do stay on very well unlike earbuds which always seem to fall out of my ears. The clips take a little adjustment to get the best placement on your ears for the best sound. These don't block out noise very well and others can usually hear what you are listening to if you crank it up too loud.
Overall, a great value in headphones. Get these if you want to save some money and don't want the "ear covering" phones that make your ears hot and look funny to wear in public but have better bass and block out noise. Look no further for portable headphones because I'm pretty sure that none are better for under $50.
Customer Review: The Best Summary: 5 Stars
I hear a lot of complaints about the comfort of these cans, and I agreed, for about a month. When I first got them, they hurt a lot, and took a while to get used to, but I learned how to get them on, and how to wear them, and they wound up being perfect for me.
In terms of sound, they rival my SR-60's. I mean that honestly, the bass response is fantastic, they sound clean and can stand up to some pretty hothot licks. If I compare the comfort, portability and isolation of the two cans, these win easy, the Grado's do sound better, perhaps even marginally, but since I picked these up about a year ago, I only use my SR-60's for at home listening.
I managed to break mine through extreme and repetative abuse, but that was after about 9 months of 6-8 hours per day. The paint was almost completely worn off and they still worked great. The fact that they broke was entirely my fault. They are very very sturdy. The ear pieces do clip on and off, which I think some people assumed to mean that they broke, but that is just natural with them.
If you are in the market for awesome cans, in any price range, jive a tiny bit of cash into them, and never regret it.
Customer Review: This set could be sold for 3 times its price, and still would be a bargain...!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I didn't expect this much from such an inexpensive product. let's sum it up:
cons:
-Exellent audio quality (I'm not an audiophile, but I can tell the difference among my 7 headphones and earbuds and this is the best sounding set). -my heaphones vary from mid to low price range-
-really comfortable (I wear them for several hours and just after 10 minutes I forget I have them on).
-cable is conviently long and plug seems to be gold plated, a plus there.
cons:
-they look ok, but there's an obvious cheap plastic look to them. (in the pic here, they look whiter than they are, they're kinda grey)
-they seem rather fragile, but I don't think this headphones can break that easily. I'm buying another set to keep it as a spare one just in case. they're worthed it.
-noise-cancelling freaks, please look somewhere else...
in this price range I dare you find another headphones like these. I tell you, hearing is believing, well, at least in this case. you hear deep and undistorted bass, well-detailed mids and crisp and clear highs. it's not like they're heavenly perfect, but for your bucks it's a bargain.
Customer Review: Unquestionably -THE- best for the price Summary: 5 Stars
I deal primarily with $200-$500 circumaural audiophile headphones... with dedicated headphone amp, lossless audio, the whole 9 yards... but that stuff tends to be ill-suited for exercise and portable use. I wanted a good sounding headphone that was portable and preferably cheap.
Well.. these headphones at low-medium volume decimate many others I've heard that go for $50 or more... and at the moment they are selling for a mere $14. I have owned many brands of headphone and many levels of quality, from consumer mp3 player stock earbuds, DJ headphones, and many audiophile cans, from Sennheiser, Denon, AKG, Bose (bleh), and Shure. There is no question in my mind that these are among the best there is for cheap, portable headphones.
Cons:
Although the sound and value is phenomenal, they can be a bit awkward to put on or wear... it just takes some getting used to.
Heavily recommended for anyone seeking a first non-stock set of headphones, or anyone that needs a decent quality headphone for the go. I'm an audiophile snob, and I had no idea that I'd ever see the day where I could get by on a pair of $14 headphones.
