Customer Review: Just buy them already!
Summary: 5 Stars

First off, Ive tried a good array of headphones but have never found a portable set I liked. I use AKG K301's at home, but obviously I'm not about to go running or to the gym with studio cans on my head. After going through several sets of dissappointing portables, including pricey sony buds, I decided to try these based on glowing reviews.

Lets get this out of the way- the fit is not great. The foam pads feel cheap, and the clips dont really hold the phones on your head well. Theyre also very light- some people may like that, I dont. The build is acceptable overall, just dont expect them to be built like 50 dollar phones.

The sound is another story. These use the same drivers as Koss' legendary Porta Pros, and it shows. Koss hits it out of the park with sparkly highs that dont fatigue the ears paired with deep, satisfying bass. The frequency response is exceptionally smooth, and midrange even sounds good- a rarity in small headphones.

Bottom Line- these are exceptional headphones. Notice I didnt say exceptional portables- the sound is much more lively than my AKG's, making them my preferred choice for rock. Id say 4.5 for sound, 3 for build quality- but then theres the price. At this price, these are the best headphones Ive listened to. Period. There are even modifications out there to make the headphones sound even better at the expense of your warranty.

Why are you still reading this? If youre in the market for portable phones, you just found them.

Customer Review: Best Headphone Deal Around
Summary: 5 Stars

For the money, these are easily the best sounding headphones you can buy. The sound really is amazing. I find the response quite flat but still excellent for causal listening, I bring up the extreme lows and highs a bit in EQ, but nothing else. They're also quite comfortable and stable, once you get them on (which does take a little bit of practice). They look a bit cheesy, but honestly feel quite well made, except for maybe the chord, which just seems cheesy, and with the way Koss packs them, will probably permanently be kinked. This packaging issue is really my only complaint.

For the price, these are a total no-brainer. I like the Koss PortaPro Headphones with Case a bit better because of how comfortable and versatile they are, but these are about half the price, and acoustically are pretty much identical. I'm considering modding them, by drilling out the speaker guard which supposedly can "open up" the sound a bit, and maybe rewire them, but I wouldn't be doing this if they weren't so cheap and there is so little to lose.

If you have any use for a set of headphones in this style, there's no reason at all not to buy these. You will be truly impressed by the sound for the money.

An update on modding them, be careful, I ruined my pair while doing so (I was not exactly careful) but they're so cheap, it's no big deal, and I'm ordering another pair.

Customer Review: Very comfortable inexpensive headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

First a quick warning to all, there appear to be TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS of this SAME MODEL NUMBER! One has the inline volume control and the other does NOT.

I have two pairs of these headphones, one with the volume control which I love and the other that I bought here on Amazon without the volume control. Otherwise the same exact headphones.

So, if you care about that feature be sure to find out first which version they have!

I really like these headphones a lot with or without the volume control.

These are the ONLY clip-on style earphones I have found that are comfortable for wearing for long periods of time. I also find them a lot easier to properly adjust to my ears, and these will stay adjusted and not make my ears sore unlike the five other clip-on headphones I had tried before finding these.

And when I say "long periods of time" I mean up to five to eight hours at a time. Such as when I'm programming all night long or just doing chores like laundry. =^.^=

And since these are open ear phones I can still hear what is going on around me like the phone ringing or cars/horses, etc when I am hiking or shopping.

BTW, getting these headphones properly adjusted will improve the sound considerably. If they are too loose (not flat against your ear) they may not sound right. The closer, and flatter, they are to your ear the better they will sound. It can make a huge difference.

Customer Review: just ordered my second pair
Summary: 5 Stars

The first pair broke due to my own carelessness (severed a wire). The sound on these little guys is impressive for the price. Easily beats any earbud (maybe not all IEMs) and most headphones under $50. Audiophile reviewers can describe the sound better than I can, so check out those reviews.

The headphones themselves are really comfortable. It takes a few tries to put them on properly, but then it's a breeze. Easy to wear with hats and won't mess up your hair. I guess they look a little bulky on your head, but it's not that bad.

The only real downside to these headphones is the fact that they leak sound. I read other reviews comments about the sound leaking and disregarded them. It's a big enough problem that these can't pass as my only headphones (and I wish they could). If you're on the subway or in a library, everyone around you can hear your music. They also let noise in. That's not a problem for some people, but truly noisy places will force you to crank up the volume in an effort to block outside noise (which in turn causes more sound to leak). For these reasons, I have a pair of closed headphones for the subway and the gym. I keep the KSC-75s for outdoor running (they let me hear the traffic) and home use.

Basically, the KSC-75 is best headphone value around if the open design isn't a problem. Do yourself a favor and trash those earbuds that came with your DAP.

Customer Review: Amazing deal for an amazing product

A little background on me, I'm a person who rarely ever buys headphones; I try to get the free ones that came with my ipod, computer, etc. and usually these are earbuds. I recently heard earbuds are bad for your ears, and also my earbuds kept breaking. I believe i had 6 pairs die on me in the past year (all free, of course, but including the ipod speakers). I purchased these headphones to replace them, mainly because of the lifetime warranty. Let me tell you, as soon as they came out of the package I was impressed. Incredibly low price and what you get is speakers that boom. While they of course don't have the incredible bass you can find in expensive speakers, I use these to work out and walk around my college campus and they have never fallen off. They also reduce ambient sound in the gym, which allows me to listen to them at a comfortable volume but I can still hear the bass booming (very helpful when running). Speaking of comfortable, I sometimes forget I'm wearing the headphones because they are so comfortable and look around for the music only to realize... Anyways, as for the negatives the clips do pop off very easily; I found putting a little duck tape over it will stop the clips from popping off. Unfortunately, I did lose one clip, and I called Koss and guess what? Sent me a new clip to my house for free. Will buy from Koss again; great customer service, great product, cheap price.
