Customer Review: Iphone Charging Stand

Honestly, I feel this product is way overpriced; however this is the only charging stand that I found anywhere that would fit my Iphone with the protective sleeve on it. All of the others are made too small.
This stand is really just a piece of shaped metal.. no plug or anything to attach to your phone, you have to provide your own. And make it fit. Since it does what it's supposed to, I guess it's cool.. Just seems like it's overpriced to me. I had no problems with the shipping or anything.

I'll keep this brief.
It's attractive and well made. Note: It doesn't have it's own connector, you just poke your cable through a hole and lock it in with this included clip. It works fine for me. What I really like about it since the connector kinda pokes up through the hole and there's no indentation for the phone, you can leave most cases on the iPhone and still place it in the stand. This isn't true for the apple version. This also means you can hear the speaker just fine.

Construction on this is quite good. The only part that I found a bit flakey was the plastic piece that holds the cord in. When you place the iphone on it, it pushes back out sometimes. I have an Incase hard case on my iPhone. I had to take a blade and carve away some plastic to get it to sit on the cradle and the connector reach the iPhone. That's no fault of the cradle though. It's nice. pick one up because it beat the hell out of the apple branded cradle.Customer Review: Nice solid (metal) stand, but don't plan on using it with non-Apple cords

I had hoped to use this unit in my car with a Kenwood IPOD/IPhone adapter but don't bother if you are using any kind of non-Apple aftermarket cords. The Apple cords lock into the little plastic gizmo and they work real well, but anything else won't fit. One could probably remove the plastic cord lock mechanism and with a drimmel tool open up the opening for after market cords but then you would have to glue in your cord to make it hold.

This metal stand is basically just functional. It is black, so it matches my iPhone, but it doesn't have a finish comparable with the iPhone. Also, it would be nice if the base was heavier. While there is a rubberized pad on the front, not sure why it was omitted on the rear...probably will scratch table surfaces with nice finishes (like a night stand), but okay for a cubicle desk. Docking is pretty easy.
