Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kingston DataTraveler 100 - 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DT100/8GBCustomer Review: Great Flash Drive that's simple and effective. Summary: 5 Stars
It does what it's supposed to do with no annoying software. I moved all my music, documents, and photos from my Windows PC to my Macbook Pro with this. It was easy, and I was satisfied with the speed. A great thumb drive with a nice feature that makes it cap-less. It doesn't have a lanyard hook up, but I just keep it in my laptop backpack in the pouch for cords and such. Overall great product. I got the 8GB capacity, and plan on using it for college for various papers and such.
Customer Review: Very Fragile...Not happy at all! Summary: 1 Stars
The title says it all! I'm happy with the amount of space, but this flash is cheaply made. I bought it almost a year ago on eBay and the casing has fell apart several times since. It still worked, but who wants their flash drive falling apart from basic contact. I do like the retractable connector (as opposed to a separate cap) and the ability to attach it to something. Right now I still use it....just with Scotch tape wrapped around it to keep the two piece shell together.
Customer Review: Why didn't someone think of this years ago? Summary: 5 Stars
Does exactly what Kingston said it would: stores heaps of data with no problems.
BULLETIN: even works with Windows Vista Home Premium!! (what a shock!)
A spiffy little device at a price that's almost unbelievable. Considering what I've paid for hard drives over the past 20 years, this paltry sum for 8G of storage is a hyper-bargain.
Don't hesitate - buy one (or more) now!
Bottom line: recommended without reservation!
Customer Review: Very flimsy USB drive Summary: 2 Stars
This USB Drive is very poorly made. I expected more from Kingston, who I always regarded as producing a good product. The metal USB connector, which ejects out of the main body in a clumsy, non-smooth fashion, is too easily bent up and down, opening the seems of the plastic case. Also, the body design itself seems to be too wide for some (admittedly older) USB ports. Overall, I expected a sturdier outer casing. In terms of data storage, however, I have no complaints.
Customer Review: Kingston DT100/8GB Data Traveler 100 8 GB USB 2.0 Drive Summary: 5 Stars
I bought two of the USB 8 GB Traveler Drives. I really do like them. I am an artist, so I have a great deal of pictures that I save and edit for future use. I can save a great deal on just one USB drive and then I catergorized the pictures and burn them on DVD's so I can watch them on my TV. They are easier to see when I need something to draw and paint. Highly recommend having the use of at least two USB drives at a time - one for my paintings and one for family.
