my laptop only had, 2g of ram not bad seeing I only payed 350 for this new a year ago. and i been looking for a good deal on ram, well I found it. I now have 3g's of ram...and I will be getting a other one so my laptop will be to the max of 4g of ram...it was plug and play. work on 1st start up...I just didn't like the package it was in when I had got it, came in a envelop (not safe) it could have gotten chipped or cracked on the way to me,when opened it was rapped real good as to use cation, but still, you never know with USPS. but I got it fast. order on 9/15/10 and it is now in my laptop as of 9/18/10....thank you I just hope the next one I get will get here fast and safe like this one.Customer Review: 2GB RAM upgrade for Acer Aspire D255

I purchased this to upgrade Acer Aspire Netbook (Model D255 with N450 Atom processor). Upgrade went perfectly. One key point about upgrading....when you remove the keyboard, use a credit card to ease the keyboard from the pin near the escape key. I had trouble removing the keyboard easily. Once I freed the keyboard from the 3 pins on the top, I had to wiggle the keyboard while working a very thin credit card under up the keyboard near the escape key. The reason being the last pin at the escape key is not flexible like the other 3. Refer to the youtube video [...]. After installing the 2GB memory, the netbook recognized the RAM and appears to work a bit faster now.Customer Review: I have not received it yet.

I have not received any USPS notice. After I checked the email which told me my stuff failed to deliver on Nov 12, I went to local post office before 9am on Nov. 18th as first custumer. I gave the the email including tracking number to check. I was told no items for me. I tracked from website, it's in transit. On Dec 1st I called 1-8002221811, a madam told me this item should send back and give a case number; I was told I would receive response in 2-3 work-days. Nothing happened. On Dec 7, i when to local office, they could not find anything. Dec 11, I sent out email for tacking, and just old information sent out. On Dec 16, I called 800 and I was told to contact sender.Customer Review: Great Product, Great Value

I bought this to upgrade the RAM in my Eee PC 701, based on a positive review by another user. I have upgraded the RAM in two other laptops and the process is incredibly simple - just unsnap & remove the existing RAM and insert & snap the new. Presto!! Increased memory.
I was a little unsure with the Eee PC because of possible compatibility issues, but this was needless worry on my part. The process is exactly the same - remove the old & insert the new.
Kingston is a top shelf product and Amazon is a top line vendor. Impossible to lose with either one.

I installed the memory 2GB*2 on my T61 Laptop, (800MHz bus frequency) it works fine, but it doesn't work as well as I expected, in running a benchmark in MATLAB 2008b, it's even slower than my original Hyundai memory 1GB*2. Maybe the CAS latency is too high, or it's incompatible with the 800MHz mainboard.
To get access to 4GHz in 32bit machine, make sure you turn on PAE (physical address extension), or only 3GB will be used.
Alternatively, if you're using Debian/Ubuntu Linux, you can simply just use the server version (for ubuntu), or bigmem (for Debian).
