Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kingston Apple 4GB Kit (2x2GB Modules) 667MHz DDR2 SoDimm iMac and Macbook Memory (KTA-MB667K2/4GR)Customer Review: Macbook White Early 2008 Summary: 5 Stars
Purchased it, got it, installed it, all very simple.
I don't notice a speed increase as far as the time it takes to boot and load applications, since the speed of the stock RAM sticks and these ones are similar. Basically, the capacity is much bigger, going from 1GB to 4GB.
It doesnt make my mac faster(running Leopard), but rather it doesn't slow down at all when running programs like Office 2008 and Firefox, and VMWare Fusion. I was expecting as much, so I'm not disappointed at all, I mean, Macs run fast anyways. RAM just increases the amount of applications you can run at once.
Customer Review: Tops Summary: 5 Stars
I read the reviews, some good some bad but I took a chance and went with it. Biggest issue I had was finding the install instructions for the memory as Macbook Pro's come in quite a few configurations. I would say that a quick link to the install instructions for your Mac would be perfect if included in the packaging. Once I figured out how to install it took 3 or 4 minutes to replace the memory. Once powered up my Mac worked perfectly and much faster. Worth the money for sure. Way cheaper than the memory offered by Apple. Macbook Pro 15" 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo Early 2008 model.
Customer Review: Fast & Reliable...Very Satisfied!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm using macbook core 2 duo 13.3". It came with 1GB of RAM and although it's fast enough for me, I read from a lot of reviews that I can boost it's performance by upgrading the RAM. I was a bit hesitant at first but I couldn't get rid of the idea so I tried it. I am happy I took the risk! It's easy to install (you can check out the video demo from youtube on how to DIY) and yes the performance is a lot faster & especially recognizable when running at least 4 programs at the same time including graphic programs or when installing softwares. Great! 4GB is highly recommended!
Customer Review: Moderately Easy Upgrade for iMac Summary: 4 Stars
I give this product 5-stars on performance and price but 3-stars on instructions. Honestly, it's not that difficult to install if you are comfortable with this type of thing, but newbies may struggle a little figuring it out. Here's a verbatim of Step 2 of 3: "Locate computer memory sockets, line up module with gold contacts facing down and snap module into place. Repeat with additional modules as needed." If you know where your memory sockets are, it's a cinch. Performance is remarkably better, especially when I run Photoshop and process RAW files.
Customer Review: Great RAM for the $$ Summary: 5 Stars
Installed this in my 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro. This fits the early 2008 models of Macbooks. My model number is Macbook Pro 4,1. I also took my 2GB that game out of my Macbook Pro and placed them into a Macbook 4,1 (white) so I got a dual upgrade for the price of one. First time I installed the RAM the Macbook Pro did not pass POST (3 system beeps) so I just took the RAM back out and re-seated it and that settled everything out. Hope this review is helpful to those interested in using this kit for Macbook's and Macbook Pro's.
