Excellent product!
Unfortunately, my card readers built in to my HP computer would not read my camera card. Downloading by cable from the cameraa was slow and drained the camera battery.
I bought this device on the recommendation of HP (who said my card needed a USB 2.0 reader; the one on the computer was only 1.1).
This device cured my problems. The card reads and downloads perfectly. No power supply needed - USB port provides power and interlink with computer. Small size.
It solved my problems!

This is a great little card reader that works great on my Apple Mac Pro. Cards go in and come out without pliers or a mallet. It's nice and shinny and matches my Mac Pro case. Even the blue/red led is cool, I can tell if my computer is on or sleeping from across the street if my windows are open. Only problem is that this unit is very light and my kats like to bat it off the computer. Luckily it stays attached to the computer with a cable so I can retrieve it from behind computer cable hell with little effort.Customer Review: A dud for me. Would not read SD cards.

I like the cool blue LED and the size, but...I struggled for about 20 minutes to get this to recognize any of my SD cards. I pushed, tried moving the cards sideways, but nothing. Finally (!) it read the card, and was very fast. But...when I took that card out and tried to load another - nothing. I like my Kingston memory cards, but this doesn't seem to be of the same quality. Other reviews are moslty positive, perhaps I just had a bad unit. Frustrating. Returned it.Customer Review: Great Card Reader

I've tried three different card readers, and this is the only one I like using. I only have Compact Flash cards, so that's all I use it for. But The two previous card readers I've used, the pins that read the data were bent and a pain to fix. That's why I bought this card reader. I'm very pleased that it is designed so there is pretty much no chance of bending the pins while inserting your card, so it should continue to work for a very long time. However,there are no adapters of any kind included (buy separately). I have other adapters and used those built into computers. This is the only one that allows the drive with a memory card inserted to identify itself with a label -- it is easier to tell which of the four drives is holding your memory card. You need to be careful how you put in CompactFlash cards. Just make sure it is flat against the bottom of the slot.
