Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kingston USB 2.0 microSD Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-MRB (Black)

Customer Review: Nifty little gadget
Summary: 5 Stars

I just got one of these and so far it is fantastic. It has a very fast R/W speed and it makes using a Micro-SD very easy (especially since none of my computers have micro-SD slots and many of them dont have SD slots for that adapter. I mostly use it for moving audio and image files between my phone and computer. The only negative, as everyone has said, is that you will need at least a little bit of a fingernail (preferably thumbnail) to get that pesky SD card out. Otherwise, it is fantastic.

Customer Review: A Surprise Solution!
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently needed to add flash memory capacity to a '(Kodak)picture frame'. It had USB and SD slots. I tried 4GB, 8GB - standard SD; microSD w/adapter; Nothing! Scrutinized instructions ...aha - it won't take SD/HC (just SD!) - says the fine print! Indeed, my chips were the HC type! Aren't they all, now anyway?? So, as a last resort, I inserted the microSD chip into this idle microSD Card Reader, and the Reader into the USB slot - voila! Saved the day! Wonderful shows ensued!

Customer Review: Too difficult to get the MicroSD card out
Summary: 2 Stars

It works, but, as a previous reviewer stated, it is very difficult to get the MicroSD card out. I do feel like I am going to break my MicroSD card when I am trying to slide it out with the tip of my fingernails. To me, this is a horribly obvious design flaw. Spend the extra couple of bucks and get one that is more user friendly (I'd list some if I knew of some, I had a generic one that I lost that worked much better than this though...)

Customer Review: Great while it lasts
Summary: 3 Stars

Six months back I got three of these (actually the red ones, "FCR-MRR"; this one is black "FCR-MRB"). They worked great but two of the three have stopped working already.

Even so, they may have been worth the price for the use I've gotten out of them. They worked with both microSD and microSDHC. And I should mention that before dying those first two were kept on my keychain and thus subject to some mild abuse.

Customer Review: Kingston - What more can you say?
Summary: 5 Stars

This is consistent with Kingston's usual quality. What I really like about this is that it is tiny. With the growing array of cords, adapters, and other stuff I carry around with me, it is nice to have a product that takes up only slighly more space than a cough drop in my little tote bag (who are we kidding, I know its a man-purse, but I'm not gonna call it that). If you need a USB Micro SD reader, this is the way to go.
