Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kingston 4 GB Class 4 SDHC Flash Memory Card SD4/4GBCustomer Review: Don't Buy! Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased the Kingston 4GB memory card at the same time as I bought the Wolverine slide converter. The memory card was not recognized by the converter. It was also unusable by my Nikon camera and SanDisk card reader. I returned the memory card for replacement. The people at Amazon were excellent. I had a new memory card in a few days. My new Kingston memory card was also a piece of junk. Again, I returned the card; this time for a refund. Again, the system at Amazon worked flawlessly and I was given credit very quickly for my returned card. May-be I simply got into a bad batch of memory cards from Kingston, but I don't plan to purchase that brand ever again in the future.
Customer Review: No Comment - but that's good! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this item for free as part of a special promotion when I bought my 14.7 megapixel Canon PowerShot G10 camera, from Amazon. I have nothing to say about this memory card, but that's what you want. In a digital camera, the memory card should operate quietly in the background, and you should be totally unaware of its presence, and that's how it is with this one. So far, it's recorded all my pictures glitch-free and downloaded them to my computer. The real test of a memory card is how long it lasts, and that will be revealed only by the passage of time. (Note, in my camera the 4 GB formats to 3.79 GB, but even that's more than I'll ever need).
Customer Review: Out Performs Summary: 5 Stars
The title Out Performs was given because though I'm a Kingston fan and have never had anything but good experiences with Kingston products, this product seems exceptional. Here's why: I purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 camera and the online description mentioned that a Class 4 Flash Memory Card is required for this camera. When I received the camera and Class 4 card, I noticed that the camera manual mentioned that a Class 6 card (or above) is required for the Panasonic camera. Nevertheless, the Kingston Class 4 card works in the camera despite the requirement. So the Kingston card sort of goes above and beyond. Thank you.
Customer Review: Works as expected Summary: 5 Stars
There isn't a whole lot to say about this card. I bought it for my point-and-shoot camera. It works in my laptop's reader and my desktop's reader without problems. I looked at other reviews, and people complain about speed. I haven't had an issue with this, but I'm not a professional photographer. I know it doesn't take more than a few seconds to save an 8 MP picture to the card, and I can't think of many scenarios where you would need a speed faster than that. However, if such a case applies to you, consider heeding other reviewers' warnings about speed. Otherwise, this card is a good deal at the time of my review.
Customer Review: Works fine in camera but not in computer Summary: 4 Stars
It works just great in the camera. Holds lots of pics and video. However, neither of two computers I put it into recognized the card. I had to keep it in the camera and connect my camera via USB cable to my computer to upload my pics. In the end, it wasn't a big deal but I was surprised that the built in card readers of my computers didn't recognize the card. My computer card readers work because they recognize a Sandisk Ultra II card.
(-- OOPS (5/29/2009): I just realized it's an SDHC card and my computer card readers can read only SD cards. My mistake.)
The price is right so it's still a good deal.
