Customer Review: Reliable, high capacity, but limited (133x) speed.

I have 4 of these cards, and have used them interchangeably for the last year or so doing wedding photography. I've never had a card error, nor an lost image. given the total number of images I've shot in that time, I would estimate each card has done about 75-80k cycles. I use Canon eqp. and use these on my 5d and 50D (and occasionally the XTi), since I shoot straight RAW 100%, I needed a high capacity card, and these have fulfilled my need perfectly, I don't normally shoot on burst (~6.7 fps on the 50d), but even when I do, I don't have a noticeable delay imposed by card writing (If I did, I'd have upgraded to kingston 600x udma6 32gb cards for the 50D).
That said, the write speed is consistently affected when the card is more than say 5/6 full (the last 5-7gb). The write speed drops dramatically. Which is the only reason I gigged it for speed. normally when that happens, I switch cards anyway, so its not a professional impediment, (just annoying if I'm shooting off the clock and I've only got the one card with me...)
The plus side is that the price for these guys is remarkably cheap. I think that was the only reason I had doubts about it initially. Of course I put a card theough a field trial before I shoot for a client, and that involves filling it completely at burst (or as fast as the body can fill it, w/ dual format image JPG+RAW) reading, then doing it again. -- I've read too many articles about the dif. quality from card to card, independant of brand-- but the bottom line is if the card has no problems during that torture test, the likelihood of a problem on site is virtually non-existent... remember, these things are solid state, so any memory, or buffer, or interconnection, or interface (the only possible points for failure --on the card) will show up immediately. (But you have to check everything yourself of course)
In a nutshell though, these cards have been great, awesome for the price, but get a little laggy when nearly full. Of course if you need to max the speed, you should be buying faster cards anyway (UDMA of course), and for my 5dmk2 & 7d, I use the Kingston 32gb UDMA 600x cards for a speedier write/read (since I need it!)
