Customer Review: BEWARE-stress cracks circuit board

I am not the only person who has had this drive fail due to poor design. Feel free to browse the reviews on NewEgg where I know for certain that others have mentioned this failure happen to them as well.
It has good transfer speed and large capacity. It is slower than some faster drives.
The sliding cover doesn't really stay "closed" in your pocket. It also does it save any length because it expands to cover the USB plug rather than the USB plug retracting inside and reducing the length. Since it doesn't stay closed, it also doesn't protect against the following design failure:
I was happy with this until it got bumped while it was plugged in and it bent. Then it would light up but it wouldn't show any data or drive. I took it apart and found that the circuit board actually goes clear up inside the USB plug; the USB contacts are actually sitting on top of the circuit board itself. Bumping it while it is plugged in actually cracks the circuit board along with lots of very tiny traces that go to the controller and memory chips. Instead of 4 USB traces that could be easily fixed, it is an impossible repair. This isn't a flawed design by itself, however there is no reinforcement. The only strength against breaking is the circuit board itself, and since it is as narrow as the USB plug, it doesn't take much to crack it. IF they would reinforce it so there is something besides the circuit board taking on all the stress of plugging, unplugging, bumping, etc, it would be much more durable.
I can't recommend this design to anyone because it is too fragile. If you never ever break it, you will be happy with it. I sure was. However, it is too easy to break due to the design.
