Customer Review: Watch out for the cards made in Taiwan!!

Overall, the 16gb Kingston Class 4 SDHC cards are solid, reliable cards. However, I was somewhat surprised to find that Kingston uses different plants to produce the same cards. I recently purchased 10 of these cards from J&R Computer World through Amazon. 8 out of the 10 cards were labeled as made in Japan, while the other 2 were made in Taiwan. The interesting thing is that the Taiwan cards are only 14.4GB, which is a considerably smaller capacity than the 14.9GB cards that were made in Japan(14.9GB is pretty standard capacity for a "16GB" SD card). Fortunately, Kingston agreed to send me 2 replacement cards. I just need to return the 2 Taiwan cards to them at my cost...
If you don't care if these cards are 14.9GB or 14.4GB, then by all means, these are a pretty good value. However, when you come to think about how many pictures you can get out of that 0.5GB that is missing, it feels like Kingston is shorting the consumer.
