Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Mini Microphone for iPhone 3G/iPod/touch/classicCustomer Review: you get what you pay for Summary: 5 Stars
i just got this in the mail yesterday and it is working very well, however to listen to smoething that you record on your iphone, itouch, etc... you must unplug the microphone. but thats ok for me because i use it for recording my classes and it has very good quality. id give it a 5 star rating because it does just what i expected it to. if you want a device that can record verbal things this is the item to get, and its pretty cheap to!!! i had free shipping so the total was $2.78 i dont know about you but thats the best deal i can ask for from amazon.

Customer Review: UPDATE: Absolutely no shipping discounts when purchasing more than one :' ( Summary: 3 Stars
Shipping costs are applied to EVERY microphone you purchase. They absolutely will not reduce shipping fees even if you buy a bunch. I should only be charged $3 TOTAL when I purchase 3! Not 9!!!
They are so teeny tiny! Ridiculous. It frankly seems like an excuse to make the price SEEM like a $1.40, but ACTUALLY be $4.40.
I was told by the company that it's because of the "arrangement" they have with amazon.
Update: Have had the mics for about a month now, and although I'm still rankled at the shipping fiasco, I am pleased with how they've been working. So, I'll compromise the stars halfway. Up from 1 to 3.
Customer Review: Do these actually work? Mine didn't. Summary: 1 Stars
I was thrilled at the thought of transforming my iTouch into a convenient voice memo recorder by inserting this 'button' (it's not as small as it appears in the ad). At ~$2.99 plus shipping, I thought this would be a nice tool. My iTouch didn't recognize the device. Prospective buyers would be better off saving the money they might spend on such devices and use, either, the built-in mic of the included Apple earphones/mic combo or the built-in mic of others like the Sony (my preference), Monster, Altec-Lansing, etc. Plus, there won't be the annoyance of the large appendage of a mic sticking out from their iTouch. Nice idea, zero execution.
Customer Review: Does not work with iTouch cover Summary: 3 Stars
The microphone works well, but I have to remove the cover from my iTouch to get it to go into the jack all the way. This is a deal breaker for me because I do not want to remove the cover every time I need the mic. Also, you should be aware that an iTouch will turn off the external speaker when you insert this device because it detects headphones (even though there are none). Some apps like Skype allow the user to override this and turn the external speaker back on with the mic inserted into the jack. In apps that do not have this feature (like Voice Memos) you must remove the mic before listening to your recording (or anything else).
Customer Review: Make your iPod Touch into a Skype Phone Summary: 4 Stars
This mic makes your Ipod Touch into a great skype phone - just plug it in to the headphone jack and hit "speaker" as Skype is dialing. The sound quality isn't the best, but works fine - no worse than most cell phones. The only problem I encountered is that when holding the ipod up to my face I tended to accidentally bump the "hold" button (that's the problem with touch screens) - solved the problem by flipping my case closed during the call. Surely other apps must have a "speaker" option - or perhaps someone could write an app for that? I just wish I knew how they sell these for this ridiculous price.
