Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kingmax Super Stick - 2GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (World's Tiniest)

Customer Review: Nice, small, but EXTREMELY fragile.
Summary: 2 Stars

I own the 2GB version of this drive. It is tiny, but still fits nicely into a USB port, but I have noticed a serious problem. The flash stick itself is actually smaller than the casing it is in (you can see it on the bottom). I have been very careful with how I store my super stick and careful in inserting and removing it from USB ports. Regardless, the plastic shell around the memory stick is breaking across the width at the top, and the bottom corners of the plastic shell (that go into a USB port) have started snapping off in little chunks.

Customer Review: Tiny, yet satisfying
Summary: 5 Stars

The Kingmax drive is truly tiny, as physical size goes. I enjoy showing to people who are convinced it's not really a USB device. It is, it's merely lacking an unnecessary metal shroud.

Kingmax accomplishes this by constructing the drive so that most of what you see is the actually memory chip itself, with a thin plastic shell to provide for a place to attach the included keychain. This has the added effect of making the device extremely durable; It's no simple feat to break an IC.

All in all, a great product.

Customer Review: Not very indestructible.
Summary: 2 Stars

I got one of these in December, and two weeks later, the end broke off after a short (less than three feet) fall from my pocket while attached with the included key ring. After contacting the manufacturer, I was told that my product was defective and should be returned for a free replacement. Two months after shipping it out to them, I was told that they would not replace it because the warranty was voided. I would recommend something more durable unless you absolutely need something this small.

Customer Review: Yes, it's very brittle
Summary: 2 Stars

I should have read more reviews before I bought this, because after a few weeks on my keychain, the end broke off cleanly. The unit still works, so I'm going to attempt to superglue it on, but I'm disappointed.

For something that claims to be washer and dryer "safe", it's very fragile. The hole for the keychain ring should extend through the PCB, not the soft white plastic cover. I'm glad I didn't lose my data, but I'm not sure I'll trust this with anything important from here on.

Customer Review: don't lose it
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the 1GB drive when it came out last year. It is soooo tiny. Take my advice and absolutely tie the small wristband/lanyard to it. I lost it in my briefcase for over a week. As a couple others have said, the drive does get very very hot but doesn't seem to affect the operation.

While I don't suggest it, the drive has survived the beach and ocean (accidentally as I forgot it was in my pocket). It still works flawlessly.

Get it and amaze your buddies.
