This is an update from the last version of this product but it remains merely decent. There are better designed, more compact products on the market that outperform this. The fact that they made the receiver a 1gb flash drive is interesting but in these days of extremely inexpensive flash memory, it seems like it could have been at least a 4gb-8gb drive given the total price. I would look at other brands unless this unit is on sale as while it does the job, the overall value for the money is low. Get the older model and a separate flash drive for less.Customer Review: Works well enough

At first, it didn't turn on. Turns out the provided batteries were dead. After replacing them, it works well enough - the receiver/flash drive pushes out of a slot in the back, plugs into your PC, and you're all set. There are controls to advance and rewind, start and stop, plus the laser pointer. The receiver flashes green when all's well, flashes yellow when battery's low.
It's comfy shape and weight plus rubberized finish make it a fun little gadget that's a great idea. However, the price point may be a teensy bit high.

The controls on this device are solid. You don't have to control much interface in a PowerPoint presentation anyways. The distance is excellent and will cover the advertised 30'. The 1GB storage is an excellent idea in that it is one less thing you'll have to dig around for in your laptop bag. It's nice to be able to have a catalog of files and documents on this memory stick because not every meeting is just once straightforward PowerPoint presentation. The only thing setting this back is the price, kind of steep for what it is.Customer Review: Your basic wireless presenter

The Kensington Wireless Presenter is very basic and simple to use. The functions are "forward" and "back" plus "black screen." To resume after hitting black screen, simply press the forward or back buttons.
My only issue is the laser pointer. I can see that in lengthy presentations, my finger will get tired holding down that little button. An improvement would be a slide and lock feature so that the laser is lit without constant holding of the button. I like that the UBS slides into the device for storage.

It works with Open Office as well as PowerPoint. The laser pointer is great, and if you're like me and don't have a very steady hand, you'll find the comfortable grip makes this one easier to point with than the little stick pointers. I never had a problem with reception, even when walking around the room. It gets the mechanics out of your way, so you can focus on the substance.
I highly recommend this for frequent presenters.
