Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kensington Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer and 2 GB Built-in Memory (Black)Customer Review: Light to hold and fits neatly in your palm Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
What we liked about this wireless presenter:
- fits nicely in the palm of your hand (works for both righties and lefties)
- it does not generate a lot of heat if held for more than 45 minutes
- the USB receiver (1GB memory stick) will pick up the presentation on your lap top and does not have to be a presentation stored on the stick
- left/right buttons easy to use and the 'stop' button blanks the screen and press it again brings the presentation back in view
- it comes with 2 AAA batteries (nice)
- when finished, the usb receiver is easily stored in the body of the remote.
- once the usb is in the body of the remote, the infrared light does not work - so there is no chance of the battery draining when stored in your bag (neat)
- the infra red light projects a sharp image
- remote definately works up to 25 feet away from the usb receiver
- the actual product looks a lot nicer than the picture!
The price was a little steep for other wireless presenters that have more features. But if you are just looking for something very simple to use and that works as advertised: it is just that.
Customer Review: Price point here is the death knell .. Summary: 3 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This device is a revamping of an older design that proved very successful for Kensington and they were smart to build off of that without doubt. However the con's outweigh the pro's here:
Pro's:
1. Lightweight.
2. Simple to use, and get a quick and convenient use out of.
3. USB storage for storing presentations is a stroke of genius.
4. Laser pointer does come in handy. Nice touch.
5. Battery life just isn't an issue, unless you're doing something extreme with this.
Con's:
1. Price point is WAY too high for such a simple device.
2. Has no air-mouse functionality but should.
3. Should come with 4GB of storage.
4. Actually has a very cheap looking build to it.
5. Cannot map the keys on this ... hmmm.
6. Not infrared.
This is a thirty dollar device -- tops! Even on sale I'd be hesitant not to shop around for something else. Kensington should've bit the bullet on this and delivered it to market for $45 if they were looking to make an impact with this. The price is an absolute deal killer though.

Customer Review: Basic wireless presenter with basic laser pointer and memory. Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is a very basic wireless presenter for very basic presentations. The wireless dongle includes 1G of memory which is nice for storing the presentation. When the dongle is inserted into the presenter, it switches off the laser pointer and the presenter itself which helps accidentally draining the battery. Batteries are included and are easy to find AAAs. It works seamlessly with MS Office across a 20ft room.
The size and heft of the presenter reminds me of a small bar of soap. Not too big and not too small to loose. There are four easy-to-use rubber buttons: laser pointer, back, forward and blank-screen. The laser pointer itself is a basic pointer, no highlighting or underlining feature.
If you do multimedia, interactive or embedded-video presentations I would recommend a presenter with more features or an airmouse. This is a simple 3-in-1 presenter that just eliminates the clutter (but not the size) of the 3 most used presentation items (thumb drive, presenter, laser pointer). Convenient = yes. Worth $70+ = maybe not.
Customer Review: Kensington Wireless Presenter: ease to the breeze Summary: 5 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Kensington have a solid reputation very similar to Logitech, but in a different areas. With the People I know, they
are Librarians, so any Kensington product is just superb for whatever is needed. However, with what I have seen,
including the current product being examined, the audience is very much a wider one. The Presenters who travel with
a laptop, Laser pointer and Powerpoint slideshow control will have a lot of gear usually, but with an item like the
wireless presenter, we have a good 40 foot or so non-range of sight range, and the pointer has the capacity to store the files in the trasnmitter ( safe place, since you keep that, and it stays with you). Like any Powerpoint file, onece started then it will work easily, and the built in Laser pointer allows the presenter to use it as he will.
And this moves with the presenter and makes an ease of use, hardly ever seen in this technology.Key point, is that the wireless transmitter fits very snugly in the back of the unit, and shuts down the battery when it is in, a very convenient option.
Customer Review: Good & Bad Summary: 3 Stars
I ordered this product in the 11th hour and Amazon came thru with a Saturday morning delivery. Great service! Having ordered a different pointer, I found the "other" one to be small, and it would rotate in my hand so it was difficult to use. This pointer feels great in my hand. I am able to hang on to it, and can easily find the presentation buttons without having to look down at the pointer. Very comfortable to hold.
I received complaints from attendees regarding the quality of the laser. It's not bright or bold enough for attendees to immediately find where I am pointing on my presentation. Dissapointment.
While I like the idea of the USB 1 GB Memory stick which inserts into the base for storage and turning OFF the pointer, it is NOT a feature I ended up liking. In four days I went thru 4 batteries (2-AA batteries each). They say the batteries should last a year. To get the stick out of the base, you must push in, for it to pop out. While the pointer was in my briefcase, the stick released, causing the batteries to be activated. I now have to take out the batteries after every presentation to ensure the life of my batteries. UGH! What a time stealer.
Come on Kensington, step up and make these minimal improvements and you would have an outstanding pointer.
