Customer Review: Started good, but then fell apart

When I first got this mount I was pretty happy with it. Unfortunately it did not last. About 6 months after I got it there were problems, and within 9 months it was in the garbage. The problem is that the months these nice little arms on the sides that slid in and out on gears so that it can accommodate devices of various sizes. While this is good in theory, the gears are plastic, and wore out. At first it started getting stuck open or closed. After a while it stripped the gears and the arms became frozen in place. No amount of work was able to make it work again, and into the garbage it went. I would not buy this again.Customer Review: This is the best!!! If you need just a mount, this is the best one.

I have an Ipod classic 80g with a leather case and attached this mount to my windshield in my 2004 tacoma. The sucktion cup is really strong and the tube is awesome! Its just a smooth black thing that can bend anyway. The button is great, it releases the latching sides. I have to plug my ipod into the aux port in the back of my head unit, so it kinda pulls on the side, which pulls the mount a little sideways. Not a big deal but its kinda annoying. I can probably fix it with some tweaking. But this thing is the shiznit. Now i wanna watch videos while i drive. This one seems like the best one on the market in my opinion.Customer Review: I really like this

I was pretty impressed with this holder. I'm constantly running for the bus from my car so I really like the push button release. I use this for my Ipod Touch & wasn't sure I was going to be able to use the Touch in my car because the buttons for music are not intuitive at all...you have to be able to look at them. This keeps it at eye level & yet it doesn't block my field of vision so it's very convenient. The adjustable sides also allow me to keep it in it's case, which alot of other mounts I've seen wouldn't do. It seems to be a very sturdy material and I'm glad I decided to get it.Customer Review: Ok but cheap?

Ok I purchased this item in August of 08 when I purchased my ipod touch. It is now May of 09 and the item has broken. I used the car mount daily. One day I noticed it wouldn't hold the ipod in place anymore. It would not lock to hold it in place. After disassembling the car mount and looking inside I found that the only thing locking the device in place is a little piece of plastic. The piece was not even half an inch. This is very disappointing since this was a great device for my car. Now I'm on amazon looking for a replacement. Thanks Kensington, you cheap fools!!Customer Review: Good Product

I really like this product. The stiff arm is a nice design and holds my iPhone snugly and securely. The suction cup is made to hold well and has not come off once. The only reason that I take away a star is that the release button on the back of the phone holder is sometimes difficult to release so the ratcheting side panels don't ratchet. This is just a minor alignment problem with the plastic relase button and a small drop of 3-in-1 oil would do the trick if I would just remember to do that. Other than this small problem I would recommend this.
