I bought this item after checking through a lot of options and reading a lot of reviews and I think this Car Mount's got the best design and suction cup I have ever seen and even if the price is not as cheap as the ones you find on ebay, you can see the extra money it's worth it, this little thing will hold to your windshield like there's no tomorrow! :D, advise, try to measure the location well before making the suction, because it's no easy job to unplug this thing, it's a tough cookie!
One thing that is not advertised is the fact that for MN and CA drivers Kensington has included other installation materials that will attach directly to your dash.
I would recommend this for people like me who have an iphone and don't want it around you car, banging against your keys and your coins and every other thing that is around a regular person's car, it is an EXCELLENT purchase, buy it and you won't regret it!

I was going to surprise my husband with this as he missed my call while listening to music and didn't recognize my ringtone since he could not see the phone and thought it was just music. He had ordered a holder that fit in the vent unbeknownst to me. We got them on the same day, and he likes this one much better! He is in his truck most of the day, and he was quite skeptical, but has grown to really appreciate this item. I just discovered the landscape ability with the holder which will help with email and IM in landscape mode. Took him a day to figure out how to take the phone out with the release button but now wouldn't be without it. Good construction and user friendly for any size device. I should have given it 4-1/2 stars really, but the release is a little tricky to catch the phone as you release it.Customer Review: Good, but not perfect...

I've been using the mount for about a month now, and overall I am pleased with it. I purchased the mount because I wanted to use my iPhone for music and other things in the car, but I had it mounted on the vents right next to the stereo and received way too much interference. The Kensington mount is very easy to place and remove my iPhone, I love the quick release button. The mount holds my iPhone just fine, and I'm never worried about it falling out, but the arm was very shaky. I ended up jimmy-rigging it using a brace to hold the flexible arm against my dashboard. This fixed the shakiness and works great, but has it's drawbacks in that it makes removing the mount a little impractical. Overall, the Kensington mount turned out to be just what I was looking for, (with a little modification.)Customer Review: This is a really really good mount.

I was skeptical at first, some of the reviews said it felt wobbly or flimsy, etc. but it was a good price so I took a chance. I am very impressed so far! It very sturdy, in fact the flexible arm is very sturdy & strong feeling, once you put it in position, it STAYS there. The suction cup is great, really locks into pace easily. The mounting unit comes off easily and can be rotated fully, very very handy. I am using it with my iphone, at first I had it mounted to the windshield but I didn't like it obstructing my view. Now I have it mounted literally on the clear plastic screen that covers my instrumental panel. I have it off to the right side so it doesn't cover anything & the iphone sticks up just to the right of my steering wheel but not higher than the actual dashboard so it doesn't distract.Customer Review: A little wobbly

The mount itslef is built well and has good features. The part that attaches to your iPhone is removable frm the rest of the mount. It has good suction to the window. Also it clamps onto your iPhone with sufficiant strength. Also if your iPhone is in a case you will have no problem fitting it in the mount. The bad part is that it does shake a lot. I've solved this problem by putting a S curve in it to shorten it's length and positioned it so the end where my iPhone mounts rests agaist my A pillar. Also it comes with Velcro if you want to mount the phone holder part straight to your dash. If I had to do it over again I probably would go with Kensington's other mount. I forgot to add that you will have no problem plugging in your phone while it's in the mount.
