Secures a notebook to any immovable object in a hotel room, or in an office, provided, of course, that there is such an object available. I wouldn't have minded if the cable were a foot longer, which would allow locking to bigger objects (desks, etc.). Otherwise, well made and easy to use, and you can register the key code with Kensington, so if you loose your keys, you can get another one.Customer Review: Best Laptop Security Lock-At least Right Now

I bought one of these locks and waited about 4 days for it to get to my house. The lock is very easy to use(no learning curve), and provides good locking protection.You put the key in the keyslot,turn the key, put it into the Kensington Security Slot, and turn the key again. The laptop or projector should now be secure. Get yourself one of these, and you will see what I am talking about.Customer Review: Decent but expensive

It does the job. Once in a blue moon it takes a second to get it out because it gets a little stuck. You do need to make sure to put the key in all the way, because it is tricky to tell when it is all the way in at times.
Overall I like it, the biggest flaw is I think it is too expensive and I don't like the "anti-tampering" safety. It worries me a lot.

hooked to a 17" MacBook Pro, stays in there just fine and does not scratch the notebook- there's a rubber bit on the end to buffer it. It is difficult to get it to seat in there just right, you really have to find the right angle and leverage to get the key to turn- but once in, it's snug. A good deterrent but certainly not a total theft prevention device.Customer Review: Really Nice Lock!

The lock fits my Compaq laptop perfectly. The cable is very sturdy and I'm sure that it cannot be cut in a short period of time. I have tried locking and unlocking my laptop without any hassle. Also, the lock itself has lifetime warranty and what's even better is that you can register your product and if you lose your key, you can get a replacement!
